Acceleration time for TL-P

Hi, I'm formerly known as AcUrA3.2Tl, but i forgot my password, and lost my other email account, so I'm back as SportshiftGuru.

I was just wondering what the acceleration time for the TL-P was. When i tested it, w/o flooring the car, i got 6.9 seconds, or so. I'm sure the car can go faster, what is the exact time.

Thank You

Welcome back!!
NEWBIE!!

the time varies. depends on the weather and elevation.
6.9 is actaully not bad for a tl-p.

I seriously doubt you got 6.9 sec to 60. What kind of instrumentation did you use?

You got 6.9 without flooring it? That is amazing if true.

Even with brake-torquing I doubt my '99 could break 7.2 sec on a good day.

ur car is prolly messed up then, i ran 6.6 and 6.7s with my Gtec with just removed resonator

7.2? um...no, my moms RL runs about a 7 or 7.2... TL has same power, is lighter, and vtec, where do you get these numbers?

Ya, i did get 6.9 seconds, and i'm sure the TL is much faster than that. It was in Sportshift, man that thing is quick. Itz a 2003, if that matterz. But, my cousin's neon did it in 6.1 seconds... kind of ashamed if the only record was 6.5 or so. Anyone do it faster... plz? Now the weather's cold and icy, itz hard to test things like this. Also, i'm curious about this tranny failure, alot of people i know haven't had their transmission fail, and they have 99s and 2000s - 2003s. I'm pretty sure itz only 2% of Honda vehicles and 10% of CLs and TLs, is it?

Hey - LOL... speaking of this, I did get raced by some lady in an older RL the other day. I beat her, by about a car length. I didn't know I was racing until I saw her pull out ahead of me, and I was like, uh uh.... flipped her in SS and hauled ass. Speed limit was 45, and I had already gotten up to 70, so I stopped, but she just kept on going...... I've already gotten too many speeding tickets!

get some intake headers and exhaust and your 99 will be crushing the 6's. I know mine is.

Most car tests prove the '99 TL takes low 7s to 60. Yes, after '99 when the 5-speed auto transmission was implemented the times improved to high 6s. Just that my car can't break 7 to 60 does not mean it is "messed up then."

I would like you to find any completely stock '99 TL and have it get to 60 in 6.9 seconds or quicker. It is not going to happen.

Anyway, to answer your question I have an '00 TL-P with I/E/H and did a 0 to 60 time of 6.71 and ran the quarter at a 15.17 at 93mph (can't remember the tenths), stock wheels and tires on a 48 degree day. Stock I only ran a 15.62. Hope this helps.
