Talking Acceleration produces noises.

Any ideas appreciated ! during acceleration, between 20-40mph, i hear a cracking noise, sounds like something is loose under the hood but can't pin point the location of the noise. i thought it was the transmission, but i get smooth shifts. possibly the cat ?? no rotten egg smells...thanks for the feedback !

so then why the smily face?

anywayz, the cracking noise is only during acceleration? hard acceleration? or do u notice the cracking noise during exact same RPMs or MPH? any shakes? any vibrations?

PS. i wish ppl would read all the current threads, there are like 2 more threads with the same sh*t in it.

I get a squeeking sound from my front end after I drive 30-45mins+ and car has heated up quite a bit. It happens when I am free wheeling, not braking or accelerating. I can't smell any exhaust and brakes are brand new. It's a shrill metalic sound that happens usaually around 30mph and less and goes away when I accelerate or come to a complete stop. I havne't been able to pinpoint it. I thought it might be that my headers need tighening or my downpipe needs tightening. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Acceleration produces noises

Hey I have noticed that same noise, but noticed when i first start the car up and drive no noise, after the car gets warm I hear the noise in 1st gear while accelerating. Any clues what it might be?
