Acceleration is only 8???

LOL... it is most definately NOT 8 seconds. I have the 4 spd 99, and it is not 8 seconds, I think it was hovering right around 7-7.2. That was a while ago, but I'll have to go back and re do it again. That was without the CAI. I wonder if it would do better.... top speed without CAI was 148 or so... with the CAI was 155..... Although that was with a slight downhill grade.

In that case, Im fairly impressed at 6.7 0-60 for such a large car.
Maybe I should take it away from the wife.......she's dangerous with all this HP........her last car was an '86 Legend with a whopping 151 HP V6

As mentioned above, a 2003 TL-P accelerates to 60MPH in 6.7 seconds. According to car-stats.com, the fastest CR-V accelerates to 60MPH in 8.4 seconds, at best. Since we don't know what year your CR-V is, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you have a 2002, which is the fastest of the lot. This translates into a 1.7 second difference to 60, which is huge.
To think a 99+ TL and a CR-V are the same in terms of acceleration is kind of silly, regardless of what you heard.

Yea, but if TL-P is 6.7, what is TL-S? I've seen the best car magazines test the TL-S at 6.5 0-60. I think that stupid car and driver magazine rated the type s at 7.2 to 60 -- a complete lie.
We have a TL-S, and I've been in a TL-P. We've also got an '03 odyssey minivan that has 240 hp and 242 Ib-Ft of torque and it feels at least as fast as a TL-P, but its 0-60 is about 8.1 - 8.2, so I have a hard time believing the TL-P is 6.7.

btw, I had a 2002 CRV EX before it was totalled three month ago (and replaced with the 2003 Accord EX). My parents have a 2001 Odyssey EX, and my work car is a TL-P. I have no idea what you guys are smoking because the CRV and Odyssey does not ever EVER EVER feel as fast as my TL-P.

why do you care about 0-60? It's a very deceptive number, and it's very easily infuenced by variables like launch/shift technique, tire grip, wheel/tire weight, gearing, wind, temperature and humidity. 1/4 mile time and trap speed tell a far grearer staory and aren't as easily influnened by these variables. I wish Magazines wouldn't print that crap. rolling start (5-60) and roll on times like 30-50 and 50-70 are much more useful. Don't forget, magazines don't use the best times, they take the best runs in each direction and average the times. This helps account for wind.

I still prefer our TL-S over the Van though, of course, even though the van has Navi.

Yo hzm82, I was just in Orlando a couple of weeks ago, sweet city. Forget about Busch Gardens, go to Universal and get on that Spiderman joint. That thing is off the chain. Oh and sweetride01, you gotta be kiddin' right? No one could be serious about a minivan being fast let alone being as fast as any acura. As a matter of fact, while I was in Orlando I had a minivan and when I put down the gas pedal it felt like I was slowin' down!

Chrysler = Unsafe, poorly engineered piece of :yack: that is worth about 40% of its value after 3 years.
Used to have Grand Caravan, strongly disliked.
Used to have Ford Windstar SE, better, more power, safer.
Now: Honda Odyssey EX w/navi, a far superior piece of engineering.
Also TL-S, far better than the previous car (Grand-Am SE).

Ok, so we have perhaps reached a verdict that an '03 Odyssey can tie w/a TL-P, at least with better tires. (once on a wet road we spun the tires to about 30MPH, and it sounded awesome).
Now, I'd like to see the 2 at a drag strip. hzm82, is there a drag strip in Tampa?
