I had the filter changed at ~ 40K miles. I had the dealer do it, only because I was in for some warranty work. It cost ~ $60 including the price of the filter. It was worth it to me to have them do it as I'm not necessarily handy, but if you're good with tools (and can maintain a low level of frustration if things don't go your way when changing the filter), then by all means, take a crack at it. For me, it was worth letting the dealer replace it.

Bought it for $15 or $20 and did it myself. I'll post if I find the instructions. They're floating around here somewhere and the job itself is very easy. The filter is behind the front passenger storage compartment.

You can get them on this site... or follow the links above and you will find other places to buy the filters. I got the Purolaters or something like that for $22 after shipping.

try this link
They have good deals on regular factory air filters--about $18 (my dealer wanted $40)---Not sure about the deal on the air conditioning filter $14???per I think--need 2.
BTW, I changed my own and I'm not handy. Very easy job. Wish I could get $70 for 10 minutes work.

Great directions, I now have my little car project for the weekend.

33K miles and now a filter change, cool--it is the AC filter after all.

This is very easy to do following the directions on the site. I got my car at 50k miles. I changed the filter, for the first time (I know cuz I had to cut the plastic tabs).

The old filter was BLACK with pollen and grime all over it.

I find that the TL is far easier to do this on than a 1998 V6 Accord.

The Accord had 2 metal bars that had to be removed.

I wouldn't pay a dealer to do this. It is too easy.

I was too lazy so I had the dealer changed mine at 80K miles.
