AARGGGHH !! this always happens to me

For the fourth time in 2 years someone has swiped my car in parking lot and taken off. 3 times on the Maxima and now on my TL. We've always just brought the Maxima to the Dent & Scratch place and they've always done a good job - even with the paint. Has anyone brought their TL to one of these place for paint work. How expensive is the dealer. Any other suggestions for the central CT area.

The only good thing the bumper got hit right next to some other smaller marks that were there when i bought the car - so now i'll at least have them fixed too.

Here's the two estimates if anyone cares (and it doesn't look like anybody really does)

Acura Dealership $370

Dent & Scratch $215

Both will do a full repaint of the bumper as well as fill in any nics and scratches that were already there.

I think i'll go with the Dent & Scratch place. It is only a bumper and not a quarter panel or door.

Any advice?

just make sure they use the right paint so that the stuff wont peal off or crack. or it may be something that they add to the paint, not sure, but i know it is not the same as the fenders or doors. i had a dealer do some work on my chevy van a couple weeks back, long story short is that they painted a side door ( dark green) and it does not match at all ! when i told the body shop manager about this he said " thats is good as it gets" lets just say he dont work at regal any more.now they are going to do it over again will see what happens. i would just make sure that the can computer match. good luck

ouch.. buy a black car.. this way the gouge matches...
sorry, nx time look where you park and note the Lic. plates of the cars around you. If you have a strong suspicion, you may file for a hit and run and you have the lic. plate..

I hate seeing stuff like this happen. You know that the person who hit your car was probably just driving some beat up old Corolla. So you could fix it, but then another scratch is sure to come shortly thereafter because we live in a world full of Corollas. My bumper's been bumped too, but I've settled for the less than perfect touchup paint repair for now. I'll just wait till my bumper gets really screwed up and I have good reason to shell out $300 for repainting.

That's it. Always plan your parking and take advantage of special areas like those near the cross hatched ends or if your parking far enough away from busy areas, straddle the divide line. It works. If odds are with you encroach *slightly* on less used handicap spaces, when adjacent spot is available. Being careful can reduce the chances for mishap.

That really stinks. Some people need to learn how to drive. Painting it should cost you no more tham $250. At least you will get rid the scratch you had before.

Feel for your pain. I got door dents too; I recently had my left driver door painted because some goof hucked an egg at it!
Anyways, what I do now is drive a beater to the grocery store, etc where there's a lot of parked cars. I don't care if I get scratched or dinged - it already has 'em! Might not be practical for some of you, but it sure beats having to worry about our nice TLs! Just a thought though...
