Need help... 99 TL the tripmeter odometer panel below the speedometer is so dim I cant read it in daylight and cannot see it at nite. Changed bulbs but no difference. Don't know what to try next.

i am not sure if it does the trip display, but you should have a little wheely thing on the left under the vent by the cruise control on/off .. you can use it to set the brightness of the lights in the entire dash.

The little wheel will increase/decrease brightness of the whole panel EXCEPT the trip meter area, This area remains dark until key is turned on and I would think that it would brighten/dim with light conditions, but it Doesn't

 

Sound like you are in for a new cluster...

 

Do you know if clusters are interchangeable ? I may be able to find one in a salvage yard..

 

Junkyard will have it, since 99 TL have been around for a while. But you'll loose/gain milage on the odometer.

 

I figured that speedo milage would be stored on cars computer and just displayed on dash ? Modern electronics are getting to be too much for me.
