Question 99's with Self-Installed AEM CAI

Acura3200 and I got about 1/3 into the installation and realized there are hoses going into the resonator box that look like they will be homeless after the install.

We weren't sure if it would affect the car, so we put everyhing back the way it was.

What is this and what happens if I disconnect them and leave them dangling.

Plus, what did you guys do with your alarm horn when mounting the pipe. It's in my freaking way.

it freaked me out too, what it is, is a tube the antifreeze travels to, to that small little radiator thing on the bottom of the air box, just take the tube comming out of the box off, and the one comming into the tube into its place to bypass it

what your going to do...is follow those hoses all the way to the throttle body.

they both meet up so the same area. then use some of the existing hose, and put it to where the other end is.

do you understand? not sure if im explaining it properly.

you definately dont want them to dangle! take off one side from box, and have a cup or something to let the liquid drain it (its very little)

then, like i said. follow the tubing all the way to the throttle body and eliminate a bunch of the tubing. youll end up using 1 foot of it

its only on the 99's. supposedly heats up the car faster

Is that the thing with the coils. Do I remove that part? If so, it goes into the box and then back out, so I just join them together?

Why does Tim make everything sound so easy.

Tim has a 2000 TL so he didn't have this issue. 99s have that mini radiator on the air resonator. Others have removed the resonator and mini radiator and spliced the two hoses (in & out) together using a smaller diameter metal tubing and hose clamps.

I didn't know there was a hard way! Needless to say I followed the "easy" instructions in the FAQ and it worked perfectly!

That's the heated air induction system found only in the '99s. Interesting how this system channels and heats up air in real cold conditions using that mini radiator.

Like mr tl said, remove the tubing all the way back at the throttle body and thermastat housing. This way you won't have all the extra tubing laying there. Here's an install old link:
