99 vs 00+??? Differences? What are they?
99 vs 00+??? Differences? What are they?
Hi everyone. I know that the 99 aren't as desireable at the 00+. My question is, aside from the Harddrive-based Navi and 4-speed tranny, what are the other differences between the U.S. TL's? And regarding the Navi, other than being Harddrive-based and non-national, are the functions and feature the same on the 99 Navi? And with the 00+ Navi, what's exactly needed to watch DVD movies on it, if at all possible. Thanks again! Trying to get as much insight on these cars before purchasing.

Okay I can answer some of you question since I have the 2000 Navi & was going to get a 99 but waited. The 99 4 speed tranny lets you shift up from 1st gear into 2nd when in the sport -shift mode. The 2000+ models will shift from 1st to 2nd by itself then you take it from then. The 2000 model had a newer design intake to go along with the 5 speed tranny. The 2000 has lighted window switches on all 4 doors that you can turn off when when you lock out other 3. The 2000 has side airbags & the 1999 does not. The heated passenger seat on the 99 heats up on the bottom & back part. The 2000+ models passenger seat only heat up on the bottom because of airbag sensors in the seat. This senses a child or small person & turns the airbag off if not seated correct. The engine covers are not the same. The 99 had a some art work the 2000 looks like a toolbox. The 2000 model stock is about a half a second quicker. The fuel economy you get about an extra mile to the gal on the HWY on the 2000. I think thats about it as far as the cars. The Navi as you already know on the 2000 is DVD. The only thing that I can think of is that you can enlarge the clock in the screen when the NAV is not in use on the 2000+ models.

This kit also comes include on the Japan version of TL(inspire/saber) as stock.
No the 00+ DVD navi will not play movie DVD's.

Asides from what FTM-1 mention, there are other minor changes, but nothing else worth mentioning.
y dun you just customize it like the car on the gallery the very first page. http://www.acura-tl.com/images/gallery/car-32-tn.jpg
