KMAN, im perrty sure 99'z cant get the guages because of the 4 speed tranny... I have them in my ride and yes, they are very nice compared to the old ones... I dont feel too bad about the TCS light cuz i know its on unless i touch the button... The higher red line is tight cuz i dont feel guilty about shifting at 6900rpm...I think your best bet is INdiglo guages...

Question your confusing me?

i could have sworn i heard the gauges fit the 99 , the only drawback is the vsa light in the 2000-2002 gauges have replaced the tcs light in the 99 ,that's why it does'nt work. also, you dont have one of the gear lights (5th) your sig says you have a 2001 tl , so how can you have the tcs button? my main question was regarding the rev limiter and ss ? thanks, kman

Every 2nd gen TL has TCS... Major difference between 99 and 2000 is an extra gear and side air bags...

i thought vsa

replaced tcs? sorry...does'nt matter anyway, after 18 mph tcs is history! the question is when to shift on the 4 speed ? the rd line is so much higher due to the 5 the gear? when do you shift based on engine noise winding out ? kman

Redline moves from 6300 to 6900
TCS is in the 99-01 TL's
VSC is in the 02 models (not just the Type-S I believe)

You would lose the TCS light because the VSC light is in a different spot. The TCS light is basically useless to the driver anyway.

What you should be concerned with is if the gears match up. The 99-01's will match because they share the 5 speed tranny while the 99 has the 4 speed.

I changed my '00 gauges to the 02 gauges and have no problems at all (except losing the TCS light). I haven't heard of anyone 99 TL owners trying this conversion yet.

It's "VSA" and it's available only on the Type S. The non-S ("Premium") 02 models still come with TCS.

You CANNOT put the white Type S guages in a 99 TL.

Since the 00-02 TL have the five speed transmission, their guage reads P, R, N, D5, D3, D3, 2, and 1 while the 99's read P, R, N, D4, D3, 2, 1. You can however put the guages on the speedometer and fuel guage. That would look fugly though.

I'm not sure is they would fit or not, I think they wouldn't. E-mail Tim(Snook789) at Info@Acura-TL.com and ask him. He would know. I don't have them yet because I'm under the impression that they won't fit.
