99 TL Audio

I have searched and talked to stereo shops and cant seem to get a consistant answer. I want to replace the headunit and speakers. Is this a straight forward install or do i have to by pass the bose amp. ( I have single cd bose no navi).

1) headunit. is it pretty much follow instructions to remove old unit, attach new unit to wiring harness and dashkit then replace

2) speakers, crutchfield says 6 1/2 will not fit BB and CC say yes.

I do not mind spending a couple hours replacing the audio. I do not want to get into alot of splicing/cutting and fabricating.

so can anyone tell me what I am up against. would i be better off paying 150 or so to have it installed or spend a few hours and know there were no shortcuts taken.

thanks
