I need some help and guidance on a future car purchase happening within the next 2 weeks.

Im looking to buying a TL either a 99 or 00

Problem has it i don't know whats the best choice to pick
The 99 TL is a 4 speed stiptronic but when i Originally planned on buying a 99 prelude they said the 4 speed automatic in the Prelude was garbage and not to buy it so i dont know if this Tl fits that problem
The only reason why ive considered a 99 TL is because its cheaper than its follow up year the 00
but the 00 is a 5 speed auto
So if you can help me make a decision ill greatly appreciate it because i dont know what to do

 

The 00-03 TL have shit for transmissions, however they have enough features to justify purchasing them over a 99, such as side impact airbags for both driver and passenger.

 

Well the 99 has the more reliable tranny compared to later years that are prone to failure on the TL. If you can find a later model TL with a 5speed that has been replaced after feb 04, then you may be in luck, since those trannys hold up well. The warranty on the 5-speed is 109k or 7years(from original date of purchase) whichever comes first.
