99-00 differences

I am going to get parts off of a 99 tl for my 2000. The parts I am going for are the leather seat cover the guy will only sell the whole seat $50, power steering pump, and hood release cable. My question is are these parts identical and what parts are different. If its after 5 eastern time no need to respond I just wanted to see if id be waisting gas or not. Thanks all

Theres a few differences, the front seats don't have side air bags so the SRS light will go on, but the PS pump will fit just fine and the hood release cable is the same.
Someone here mentioned that you can swap the covers.

I had planned on swapping cover unless the heated seat worked. In that case I guess ill have to frankenstien the seats. Does the design of the leather cover vary at all or is it the same throughout?

if the addition of side airbag to driver side seat was introduced in 00, there may be a slight difference from that- the covers side panel have a special low breakage tension seam thread = so the airbag can get out~

Did you consider going to a private upholstery person for repairs of your cover?
Often found in the craiglist motorcycle section-
Someone who used to work for a big company and got downsized or retired,,they don't stop working- they work from home for HALF the price!!

My bad back appreciates my local person! totally worth it for the customization of the foam to fit my butt while the seat was apart

you could add a 12volt electric blanket (yes they exist) under the cover for full coverage heat compared to Acura's pad- if desperate~

Other than a few minor changes, most '99 TL parts will interchange with your 2000 TL.

The biggest differences are obviously that the '99 uses the older 4 speed AT and things like the motor's poor EGR system. But, hey for the price of the seat.....ya can make it work with a bit of research and effort.
Swap the covers !

The seat covers wont work on yours either, that leather isnt designed for the side airbag to tear thru.

I will have to see if I can find a repairman around. If im right the side airbags are in the upper(the part your back is against)part. I need to replace(fix) the butt part. The electric blanket idea is a good one but im not that desperate. Just want to get the car in good shape incase I end up selling it at the end of the winter.

Yes, the side airbags are in the back section of the seat.
