would I have to change out the ECU if I were to just do a swap to the 6MT and keep the current motor in my TL-P?

I don't want to come off as a dick (welcome to Azine btw) but the reason the replies to your questions aren't generating a wealth of information is because there are quite a few 6speed swaps in progress (at least 2 on the front page) and all you need to do is sit down and read them. They are loaded with information.

Having done the 6spd swap myself, you will want to research all the unknown you can so as to avoid any setbacks. Some parts can be on backorder and it can be a royal pain in the ass. With that being said, welcome and good luck on your research.

well, thanks alot guys... I've been wanting to do a 6MT swap for some time now being that I dont want to deal with another AT taking a shit on me (3rd AT right now). I'll go on ahead and do some more reading up on the richie module and see if I can source one out before I buy the other parts to start this project.

and I seriously thought for a while that the only 6MT swap was from a CL-S 6MT until I was reading the other threads... but I wasnt quite sure if the the 3rd gen TL 6MT would bolt right up or not
