Exclamation 65,000 mile service

Yep you read right. I brought the sled for service today (sunday). Dan, the manager at Rick Case Acura in Fort Lauderdale, a good friend of mine, gave me a RL with only 2,000 miles on it to drive for the weekend. He said my car will be ready Tuesday since the service department has to order new motor mounts (3 of them). Is this common at 65,000 miles or could it be that I have I/H/E and Nitros that causes it? . Either way, they didn't argue or even question the mods, its all under warantee. I got the extended 100,000 mile warranty for just over $600. I figured that since i put miles on the car quickly a $600 investment would be worth it. I will let you know how the service comes out. The RL is a smooth car, a bit too smooth for my sport-refined taste but still is a nice car. If you think the seats in the TL are unsupportive the freakin RL is even worse!

Well, with all the crap u have in ur car, i would think the mounts would go(nitrous)in such a short time..but it sounds reasonable that they would go at that time..

What? All 3 motor mounts need to be replaced at only 65000 miles? Dude, how often do you NOS it?

The motor mounts should last well past 100,000 miles before they need to be replaced. The more sudden accelerations you do, the faster your motor mounts wear out.

well i have only gone through 4 bottles of juice. I do however accelerate without the juice regularly and do get on the car. Oh well, no skin off my back. I should be picking up the car tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

Went in for my 15000 service today... man, i sat in the RL. Pretty nice, wish i got to test drive one. RLs got the coolest armrest, u push this button, and the whole thing raise forward and up!!! I like the RL... if I could afford it, i think I would've gone with the RL. Much more luxury to me, and that is all that matters to me. Rear seats aren't that great, same room as the TL.

i had 3 of my engine mounts replaced at 55,000 miles. i took it in because the car would make a loud banging noise when shifting. that was the culprit. apparently my engine was moving around so much that it was making some noise. i dont know. ehh.....im rambling......yeah i had my engine mounts replaced too.

jkc, what were your driving habits like? I am wondering if it is due to the mods i have, which i am sure played some part in it or if its just a bad set that i got? thanks for the post.

When i bought my car, they gave me two year maintainance for free. So i didn't pay. It did cost 145.00 though, i saw the invoice. I will list what they did later on, it's on the invoice. But it's in my car, i will get it later on. I wouldnt really pay acura for this service, they didn't do much, it's a rip off to me.

got the car back today and it drives awesome! The service cost me $419 for the 65,000 mile service and the motor mounts were waranteed as a result of the extended warantee.

Hey Tim, remember when you were in my car and you said it sounded funny? Well that was because the motor mounts were broken and the engine was shaking. LOL! You have a well trained ear. The rough noise at high RPMs stopped now. Thanks bro!

when you take off, it feels like there is something loose with the suspension...but its actually the motor that is loose. Also the shifts are a lot more jerky and not as smooth. check with your dealer.
