6000k HID Question
I have seen one company that will take your old ballast and HID 4300kelvin bulbs and give you a hefty discount on the 6000k stage 2 bulbs and ballast kit. Some of the forum members have gotten these 6000k bulbs by Phillips that just swap out. I am wondering if there is a difference between a 6000k complete kit with Ballasts and just getting the bulbs and running them off our stock ballast. Anyone know?

okay the ballast is only for people who do not have one in the first place...you only need to buy the bulbs...the ballast wont do anything for you but do the same thing your ballast already does...i dont really know why you would change the oem ballasts out...Shyne

I just order this from www.autolamps-online.com for $290
(the shipping took 5 working days). I order this last Tuesday and I just got it today! Very Good Service!
this is what you need: philips "6000k" for your TL or TL-S but make sure you get D2R bulb. I took a risk of getting D2S bulb. it might show too much glare. so I might have to use these for my wife car Passat.

Great thanks so much. I thought it was strange but HID 4 LESs does a swap of your OEM HIDs and ballasts for the 6100K setu. Cant understand why they would do that if you only need the bulb. Anyway Im gonna order the Phillips bulbs.

even with the least of mechanical skills, it's not hard to put in at all.
the only difference between these and regular h4 bulbs (the ones with the spring rod that holds the bulb in) is that there's the plastic 'tamper' cap over it with a 'star' screw to keep people from messing with it.
but you can get a 'star' driver set at any automotive store.
i don't think you ahve to worry about getting ticketed with these. cops can't even tell legal (dot approved) superwhite halogens from the $12 blue "for offroad use only" bulbs some people get at walmart, so i'm sure they won't be pulling anyone over with these. if you do, just tell htem it's factory and you can't mess with them and show them the "tamper" cap and warning sticker on it .
this is assuming your headlights are aligned right so it's not a nuisance for oncoming traffic under normal circumstances.

bitium, my car is pretty much stock when you think about it...i dont have a drop...i have never messed with the factory headlight settings at all...actually my left one doesnt shine as far as my right one, but since it came from the factory like that its okay...I actually thought i was going to get pulled over cuz he flashed his high beams and put his police lights on for a quick second...when i flashed him, he just kept riding...Guess i was just lucky...Shyne

The adjusters can be easily moved by working in the engine bay. They could moved by themself. That is the reason the headlights come with adjusters(knobs).
I recomend you take the car to the dealer to have them adjusted, but the dealers do not have any special tool or wall to do it at, so might as well do it yourself.
Good luck.

That's realy funny, cause my left light goes further then right one... and it's set up higher, cause when i'm in front of a wall. left one shines higher. by the way, do we need a special tool to adjust left/right adjastment? I tried to use my finger, but darn thing didn't even move a nitch.

You can check this post for my comments on the bulbs and how bright they are.
http://www.acura-tl.com/forum/showth...threadid=27202
Also here are pics of my 2002 with only one bulb installed. The regular HID looks like a halogen in comparison, and when I drive another car, I feel like I cant see anything and what I can see is all tinged yellow.
