Well I was on craigslist.com when I came across an ad that only said "03 acura" that's all. So I decided to click on it. I could not belive it. it was an 03 cl-s six speed. Crashed on the driver's front but hit hard. Now we all know what the trans alone goes for. To make a long story short the owner wanted 2,000 b/o. I called asap, went seen the car and took it home for 1,500! SWAP TIME!

I'll post pics when I get a chance. I have already stripped the car and have sold most of the parts I don't need. I'm down to 500 and I still have the whole interior and stock rims so I'm hopeing I end up with a free swap.

Hey rockstar for your info I've had the car for about 2 weeks just have not had time to swap it yet. I don't know about you but I work six days a week and have a wife and two kids plus I am the manager of a garage and I don't spend all my free time working on my car. And another thing I'm 30 years old so take a look in the mirror before you start on the age thing. What my comment hurt your feelings. You seem to be a hater. Why don't you go to an accord forum.

considering you never said when you got it, posted about it one day, and said it was all gone the next. one would only assume that you were implying you did this in a day's time.. i was actually inquiring, not taking a shot.
no need for a whiney-ass response to it.
as far as the age comment, i was well aware of how old you were when i made my first comment. I was me letting you know you were acting like a child by calling people haters for not swallowing the E-load you blew in your Original post.

Nice pickup. I was seriously considering going all out on mine, possibly a 3.5 build with boost. Until I saw a kid in a legit R32 today. No point in trying to compete with that.

If you want to swap a 3.5 into your TL and supercharge it then save your money, find some time and make it happen. Who cares what some random kid is driving. You modify your car because you love it and want to see achieve its true potential. Period.
To the OP, great find, all the best with the swap. Recommendation: Don't throw your life's commitments in other member's faces to justify the time you're going to take to do the swap. Fsttyms1 was simply making a joke and really no one cares how long it takes. Rockstar also doesn't make serious comments unless the need arises from what I've seen. Good work takes time and in general we're often excited to see a car come together. If you refrain from further comments like that previous one you'll be admired by many for the achievement you'll have with you car.

Welcome to Olliewood
Congrats on the pick-up, hopefully it goes smoothly for you. Do you plan on doing this all yourself or are you paying to get it done?
As for your etiquette in this thread thus far you really need to lighten up.
Calling everybody haters 2 hours after opening the thread and Rockstar one for no reason, unreal. lol

If all it took was another performance car to drive by, then you were not seriously considering doing anything...

What I was saying in my initial post was this, I could go through all that headache and still make what ~400 hp? Some true potential. There are far better platforms to make power, and that is what I realized.
That said, I love my TL. I will continue to love it for years to come. I will run it into the ground and then fix it back up. But don't question whether or not I actually thought about doing something when reality set in.

Comparing the performance of a TL and a fucking Skyline is like comparing apples to vaginas. Just absurd. With what it would cost to do a 6 speed swap, a 3.5 build, and a super charger along with supporting mods, I could find and buy a decent R32.

But guess what, I have met a guy who lives in the same city as me who wanted to do a 3.5 swap, and supercharge his A-Spec TL and he went ahead and did it. He'll be doing a a 6 speed swap soon I believe. (click here). He didn't care if the TL platform was not the best platform to modify so heavily, he decided that he wanted to go that extra mile with his car. There are MANY highly modified cars around my city including many beastly R32 GTRs, R33s, Supras, FD RX-7s, Soarers, Aristos, M3s, etc etc etc. If I decided to give up on my performance dreams with my car every time I saw one of these performance orientated cars drive by, my TL would not be as it sits today. Nobody expects a TL to compete with an R32 and nobody really cares if it can.
What my simple point was: Do what YOU want with your car and don't let nicer, better, faster cars of others stop you from what you want with yours.
You know what's more impressive to me than seeing any of those cars I mentioned above in stock form or built up? A car that was not meant to be highly modified and fast, turned into an outstanding machine. The TL was never meant to be a sports car, it is an entry level luxury sports sedan. It's a comfortable daily driver, 4 door sedan with respectable power under its hood.
It has the potential to surpass its accepted use if the owner wishes to pursue that route. Perhaps I was a harsh with my words but if you truly wanted to take your car to the next level you would. Another widely known example: Fsttyms1 wanted a 6 speed in his TL so he swapped one in and takes his car to the track. I don't think Acura expected any of its owners to track their TL of this generation but some have decided to do so.
I'm sure you have the same love for your TL as any of us do for ours. I never said you didn't. I would use different words to describe how I plan to drive her over the years - not into the ground - but rather until it has nothing left for me.
There's always going to be a faster car, a nicer car, a better car to build, and there's always going to be slower, crap cars that aren't worth a second look. As long as you're happy with where your car stands or what you believe you can achieve with it then all the power to you. The OP of this thread believes his TL will be better with a 6 speed in it so he's going through the cost and the hassle to do so.
I won't be further replying after this post because I don't want to convolute this thread with off topic posts.
Cheers
