6 Months of Mods!

I bought my stock 2000 Acura TL Monterey Blue w/ Nav 6 months ago after selling my '98 Corvette convertible because of too many tickets. I figured I'd get a car that was nice, but would blend in. I joined this forum right after getting the car and you guys destroyed me. What I saw and read was inspirational. I had to mod my TL! The first thing to change were the rims and tires. I bought a set of TSW Super Models w/ Falcon Azenis 225/40ZR-18. Next was a Wings West body kit and spoiler. Looking much better! I did some custom front grill work, got a trunk tray, painted the calipers and engine. Next came the APEXi Catback World Sport Exhaust system and ripped out the intake resonator. Not enough. The car was too high, so I installed H&R sport springs. Now to top it off, I put on an AEM CAI. I think the car is awesome 6 months later, but there's more to come in the future. Thanks all for all your wisdom and help! Opinions and comments welcome.

Lookin good man. Like the engine cover. It had to be a bitch to paint the part with the emblems on it. Not really diggin the wheels, but we all have our own tastes. IMO get some lip on there if you like chrome.

Thanks for the comments guys! ou sig, the exhaust is awesome! Between that and the CAI, there's much more power. Yeah about the '02 tail lights! Samkws, I bought the exhaust on Ebay for $355. It was a steal and yes, I have a TLP. Tunaboy, I masked the letters and emblems and carefully cut around them with an exacto knife the sprayed with DupliColor MetalCast which looks like anodize so it matches the AEM CAI.

Where I work, we make electric motors and motor controls. We make metal boxes to house the controls for the navy. Some of them are vented, so I got some leftovers of stainless venting and made them up. The little ones where the fogs would go, I made up a cardboard template then cut the stainless mesh with tin snips. I cut them exact enough so they just press into place and stay there. The big one on the bottom is made from two pieces with about an inch extra around the opening. I put it behind the grill and used small zip ties in locations that aren't noticed as much (like up near the front plate mount). It was easy, cheap (like 0$) and it looks good. Hope that helps.

A front wheel drive piece of crap? What are you doing on this site? I told why I got rid of the Vette and I happen to like the TL. As far as being too old...what should I be driving, a Toyota Corlloa? If you want to be old, that's your business. I just traded my Suzuki GSXR 1000 this summer. You're only as old as you think you are :wtf:

Oh, and for those wondering how to mesh the air dam. There's 3ways, take bumper off and epoxy the mesh wire to the back (or use some tie wraps) or do this on the front OR what i did to my friend's Cl; notice how the black plastic part (with the black grid thing) is a separate part of the bumper, if you take the bumper off, stick a knice thru it at an angle so that none of the bumper is cut off, you can just slice thru that and remove it completely and then go back and remove the uneven plastic part to make it flat and just epoxy the grill to that = hotness!!
