5spd tranny?
sup guys..i have a 99 tl...i was just wondering that if somehting where to happen to my tranny...*knock on wood...would i be able to modify it and fit in a MT? i kno tl is 4 gears...but would it be possilbe to replace it wiht 5 spd MT...or 4 spd MT..if such a thing exists...thanks for feedback

lol yeah it's possible..but why in the world would you want to?
The auto to manual swap would cost about $3000. I'm just guessing here, since the auto-manual swap for the integra is $2000 something..

You're only options are the 6 speed manual from the new CL-S. I think the NSX's manual might work as well considering it's roughly the same block. I don't know of any 5 speed manuals that Honda makes that will mate to the 3.2 V6. At any rate, it's not worth the $$$ and effort, IMO. If you're gonna drop $3,000+ might as well get a CL-S 6 speed and consider the depreciation hit as the cost of upgrading.

I think $3000 isnt bad for a manual swap, considering as soon as you drive a brand new car off the lot the price goes down almost that much. I also heard that it would be about $8000 for a manual swap in a TL but I dunno, I'd be interested cuz if it were in the 3 - 4000 range I'd def. save up and do it.
no more worries about the "bulletproof" trannies
