5 years+ Thinking of a trade in
I've been driving a 03 TL-S for more than five years(bought it in apr 02), there's absolutly nothing wrong with the car but I want the newer technology offer nowadays. I was at an Acura dealership to check out the 07 TL-S but the 07 MDX got my attention. I really like the new MDX.
Should I do it? how much you think I can get for a 60k mile 03 TL-S for a trade in?

As long as you are covered by the 109/7 extended trans warranty keep it
if not- think about the new ride
www.acura.com owner link to register car by VIN and know its history and warrantys in effect- may even be a replacement something at the dealer for you- no charge- you never know till you register the car
or call 1-800-382-2238 x5 and give them vin.
If its covered trans- thats a selling point on the street- trans goes- you get free new one
thats $4000 worth of goodwill in the sale

They gas consumption on the MDX is a bit higher than the TL- if that works into your thinking- ask around about real life mileage- or since you are an Acura owner- ask for a weekend test drive of 200 miles or so and see what it will cost you

The MDX is nice, but it is a minivan. I'd go for the 07tls if I were you, unless you need the cargo room. Word on the streets is that the RDX turbo is a hot hot hot little ride...

Yes, my car is covered by the extended warranty. No problem with the tranny at 60k mile.
The car is paid off 2 years ago and I'm enjoying the no monthly payment. It's the only thing that keeps me from getting a new car right now. Everything gets expensive again once I get a new car. Insurance, Excise tax, gas, etc.
But the MDX is HOT!!

If the dealer trys to give you less than $17K tell them to take a hike. I wouldn't sell it for a penny less than that, especially with it being covered by the extended warranty and you not having any problems with it so far. They could retail that thing for $19K + easy if they Certify it. I have seen older cars with more miles (just a few months ago) on the lots for more than $17K, and they were not TYPE-S

A co worker of mine just did the same thing you are proposing. He traded a 03 tl-s w/nav 87k miles on it that he owed 10k on, the dealer gave him13 for the trade. They then put that 3k plus 2k out of his pocket down on a 07mdx technology package out the door for 40,500

and in my opinion the dealer raked him over the coals. He not only gave up a car that they then certified and put on their lot listed at 15,900, but also made his payment go up over 200 month and now has 6 years of payments staring at him.

good choice. i would argue against selling it because it's such a nice car and if it's not giving you any problems, i'd keep it. the new cars are not that much better anyway. they just have more gadgets than we do, that's about it. and plus, i don't think it's worth the extra money just to upgrade to something a little better.

the only reason i wont trade in, sell or get a new dd is becuase my car finally got paid off like 4 years ago and every day i keep it its money in my pocket...being the original owners the car still looks and performs like new. What is a 2007 TL gonna give you over you 03 TL-S. more space, cooler looking interior...and that's it. you're willing to pay 20grand for that?
mom has a Pilot = MDX and its a hell of a car can't go wrong but its expensiveee
i'm also a college student so i have to think like this. my 99 > ur 03!! jaja
