Talking 4spd vs. 5spd & Wood Trim

Ok....
to any owners of 99 vs. 2000 or vice versa... is there a major difference between the 5spd and 4spd? Cuz I drove the 5spd TL today and it was verrryyy peppy, i'm still htinkin the 4 shouldnt be too different, right?
Second, the *horrible* fake wood in the TL, can that be removed and replaced with a REAL wood kit?

Well the 4 speed can downshift to the 1st gear. 5 speed will shift between 1-2 by the computer.

raced Danny (silver stock), was neck and neck till 60, we couldn't race after that. to me, there are 3 main benefits of the 5 speed, and one drawback.
1) sportier - i came off a stick, and find myself trying to upshift while i'm already in 4th gear. Of course if you don't use SS mode a lot, and a lot of ppl apparently don't, then it doesn't matter.

2)5 speed will probably get you a little better resale

3)Save on gas. pop it in 5th gear and economize.

drawback:

1) one thing that really really ticked me off when i drove an 02 type s, was that first and second gear it shifts for you. In mine, i can shift to 6500 rpm, in the redzone. After 6500 rpm, the limiter kicks in, but you have a higher usualble rpm range in 1st and 2nd gear. Of course i loved the type s, don't get me wrong, but a performance car shouldn't do this. Now, if a chip is made available perhaps things will change. The speed difference you read about tho is probably bullshit, or it takes a certain driver to get the faster 60 times you see in magazines, most likely not a normal driver.

The 00TL has the 5speed tranny this is automatic as well as sport-shift. ACURA reworked the tranny for the 00 model. On the 00TL the engine got a newly redesigned intake manifold. This optimizes the intake charge being fed to the combustion chambers boosting performance & efficiency & around town response. This along with the new 5-SPEED SEQUENTAL SPORTSHIFT AUTOMATIC TRANNY helps the 00 get better performace & better gas mileage. The 00 model has better response & a 1mile per gal increase in highway feul economy.
