45,000 mile service???

so im at the acura dealship right now, and theyre pressuring me to get a 45,000 mile service. im at 45,500. it costs 422$... is this necessary?

yeah id like to know, cuz im going to be hitting 45k sometime this winter.

Kris what services do you recommend for 45k?

Honestly... None. All i would do is keep changing the oil on your schedule, check and replace air filters (all 3) when needed and replace tranny fluid every 50-60k.

really?? i just scheduled for my 45,000 for wednesday they gave me this coupon, the whole service will cost me $238

45,000 miles:
oil change change
tranny fluid change
brake fluid
test drive
tire pressure

and some other small stuff

change engine oil and filter
Inspection of the following
-drive belts for proper tension and wear
-fluid levels (top off as needed)
-radiator coolant and hoses
-idle speed and quality
-tire condition and tread depth
-tire pressures
-fuel lines and injectors for proper operation
-ignition timing
-exhaust system
-cold enrichment/false idle
-evaporation emission controls
-ignition distributor and wires
-parking brake operation/adjustment
-crankcase ventilation
-PGM-FI EGR system
-drive axles/cv boots
-suspension condition
-tighten all suspension bolts/mounts
-brake inspection including:
1. brake pad thickness
2. caliper and slide pin lubrication
3. hardware and fittings for proper operation
-replace wiper inserts
-tire roation and balance
-perform coolant serive with genuine honda coolant
-perform transmission fluid service
-using genuine onda ATF
-perform brake fluid flush (including ABS) genuine honda brake fluid
-install BG-44k fuel treatment
complete 45,000 mile service.... $422.00

WOW.....thats one heck of a list, just do what fstyyms1 is telling you, just get an oil change, air filter, tranny fluid and call it a day =D

Half that stuff on the list they pop the hood and look down and say inspected, which you could do youself and save some money
