3M clear guard question?
I remember some threads about TL-S owners using the 3M clear guard stone protector system. It is this clear stick on plastic type guard that you would put on your hood/nose area.
What I am looking for is information if there is anything similar that could be done for the door sills of my car. I am talking about that small 2" section that does not have plastic molding on it and is bodypainted. My TL-S is black and due to carelessness I now have some scuff marks on that painted section due to my shoes scraping, etc. So, I want to get some of that clear guard and run it along that section.
Let me know or give me other ideas to protect it as well.

I believe Mr Hyde had that done on his TL-S. It was custom cut by the shop, if I remember correctly.
Anyway, it's a pretty basic shape to cut out and install for the shop, so I'm guessing it shouldn't cost a whole lot.

3M ScotchCal
My Type-S came with a dealer installed 3M ScotchCal clear bra. You can search with '3M ScotchCal' with any search engine and find numerous places that sell a kit that cover the front bumper, mirrors and a portion of the hood. If you don't want a kit, you can buy this protective film in different width. For example, Autosupermart sells a 1 foot wide ScotchCal and it is about $9 per foot.

Also, you may try 3M rubbing compound follow by wax to remove them.
Also try www.xpel.com they use the 3m stuff.

I had it done when I had the bumper and headlights done with the xpel product. I had them do the door sills down over the body kit, inner painted fender well surfaces, body kit behind the rear wheels. They do it out of a bulk material (not part of a kit) it was pretty cheap, saves a million scuff marks from peoples shoes when they get in...
