30K service
Do you guys feel that the 30K service is a MUST? These clowns wants $420 to do about $150 worth of work. It seems like its a lot of "inspecting this" or "look over that". Not too much actual work is being done. What is everyones thoughts? I don't want to sound like a cheap B@stard, but I feel like they are taking advantage of me. I doubt they do half the stuff they charge you for anyway!!! Please, inspect doors seals???

Can you say scam. Have them do any of the important stuff you cannot do. Do the rest yourself. There will however always be those people who will let the dealer do whatever they recommend.

I believe in having the dealers do the service at least until the car is out of warranty. Most of the money paid by you is labor charges. The only service the dealer does not do for me is tire & alingment.

dont do to the dealer for the services. but go for the 30,60,90K services. they are expensive and they do pretty much everything. im guessing that price is in US funds, so yes, its too high. around here its about $300 USD
everytime ive switched dealerships the first thing they asked me was if i had the 30K service done and they wanted to see the write up on it. 2 different dealerships requested the same thing. that must mean something
but hey, if you can do it all yourself, go ahead

When i went in to get my oil changed, the service guy asked me if i got the maintenance check (i think it was the one at 7500mi). Anyways i told him no and he said that acura takes note of people who do and do not get the maintainence and that it could affect me after warranty if something was wrong with the car. Overrall, i think he was just trying to scare me. Im not wasting my money!
