IS 300 Stand offs?
I was wondering how many people have raced an IS 300. I personally raced a yellow one at the street illegals in Dallas. I had my girlfriend in the car and this is before my springs but after my CLS rims. We drag raced, but I didn't beat him but by 1/4 car length and right as I was about to hit 4th, we stopped the race. I figured maybe he would take me when I hit 4th, but I don't know. I was wondering how other people's experiences differed. I think I need to get those damn headers. *drool*
by the way, I was using D4.

Well, I have the 00 TL, and my friends go the IS300, E46 330i with sports package, and E36 M3.
The TL is a bit faster then the IS300 all the way till 100 mph. I have raced them few times, stock vs stock. But I think the IS300 have a better gear-ratio. So it will kinda catch up when we hit 4th. But I am not so sure about that, because we havn't really tried that. But I am sure the IS300 will pull faster than our TL in 4th gear.
The 330i with steptronic is still FAST. We can hang with it, but once on the highway, it pulls like hell. My friend said that his E36 M3 start to pull slowly at 200km, but the 330 pulls hard all the way to 220 km.
The IS300 and the bimmer will kill you in the twisty road. They handles way better than the TL. I don't think the TL-S is any better.
Anyone with suspension mods, how does your TL perform when cornering? Do you think you can beat the bimmers?

I haven't had any stoplight races against the IS, I have driven the IS, and feel the TL is as quick if not quicker. I out-maneuvered an IS several times when they notice my Acura-TL.com Plate frame, they know who I am and what i'm about, then decide they wanna play, as this has happened a number of times.. But I have dominated in your average traffic maneuvers, but that mostly is the driver, not the car, IMO.

I considered te IS300, and went to the Lexus dealership with my checkbook.. umm.. big mistake.. go sit inside that car, i don't think any reasonable person would like the interior (well unless you are 15, 5 foot 6 (you will not fit if you are any taller, so don't even try..) I went in there, the dealer guy went to get the keys, i just walked out, and went to the acura dealer for another test drive..
Love my Acura
(well the back seat was horrible, but the dashboard just killed it for me.. i can't figure it out when i'm standing still, how the hell am i gonna figure it out while i'm driving..)

The Altezza is the coolest lookin car a decent price. I don't think I would even do aftermarket cosmetics to it. I would think I would overall beat out a TL.
The Pontiac Aztek is the greatest ummm....thing there is. I recommend everyone to get one. You can camp out in the back and grille up burgers while listening to the radio with the controls in the rear.
If anyone wants to camp out with me in my Aztek, call me.
