3.2TL/TL-S Window Recall Notice (this is it!)
I was able to retain the internal ACURA Recall Notice (Service Bulletin 01-019) on the 3.2TL Driver's Window problem. The bulletin says "exactly" what I have entered in below leaving out only the procedure for the repair which is, in essence, replacement module instructions for the service tech. Hope this helps to clarify this problem for everyone in the TL/TL-S forums.
Window recall info. This is directly from the recall Service Bulletin dated April 27, 2001.
BACKGROUND
Moisture contamination may have been introduced into the power window control unit during the manufacturing process. Moisture can lead to dendritic growth or mineral crystallization within the capacitors. This growth can cause a capacitor or capacitors to short circuit. There may also be a problem with the conformal coating applied to the circuit board to keep out moisture in high humidity conditions. A short circuit can cause on or more of the following problems:
* The auto down or auto up function may operate inadvertently, and the auto reverse function may deactivate.
* The auto down and/or auto up function may be deactivated.
* The driver's window may fail to operate in the non-auto mode.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
All 2002 3.2TL vehicles currently in dealer inventory are affected by this recall. According to federal law, these vehicles cannot be sold leased until they have been repaired.
