3.2 TL vs 3.5 RL

K guys.. i just checked the stats and always wondered what was so great about an RL.... and from what i checked... the 3.5 RL from 2002 -> 2004 has the SAME horsepower as the TL... wats up with that? 225hp for a 3.5L?

can someone enlighten me.. thanks...

what is basically good about the RL that the TL doesn't already have. .tahnks

power steering wheel is pretty hot..the factory navi is better than our 2nd gens (and by better I mean better screen...more space...and is it just me or does the sunroof look bigger in our cars than in the 2nd gen RL? Also, RL has no tiptronic

yyup

hmm i dont think its the motor since the relay in the switch usually tells the motor how long it should run of (express open or close), basically same thing as holding the switch down rite? ..

as for internet capability.. yes.. for business ppl with laptops.. its a service u gotta get like ONSTAR but yes.. its there for RL.. available.. ask acura

and same thing for the tracker system... in case u need to open the doors if the keyes get locked in.. or just find the car when it gets stolen etc.

The RL is a heck of a lot heavier and has no VTEC.

Both cars are awesome. I love driving my mom's RL on Sundays and long drives . It's a very smooth car.

To me its sad that the RL is Acura's flag ship, yet it can be compared to the TL. They should consider beefing it up a little. More power, bigger design, more lexury, etc. Get it somewhere near the 7-Series, S-Class, LS, etc.

i love the 04's (last yr of the first gen) in black on black :-)... all its needs is a couple of inches bigger on the rims (nothing too flashy of course) and some tint and its pretty baller to me.... standard navi... i believe a superior stereo (not positive on that though) and little features here and there... but they are two different classes so you cant compare the performance... ps what does rl stand for?? i know tl is touring luxury.. not sure on rl though.

You know the last gen of the RL wasnt a big hit, because it wasnt that great of a car. Most folks thought it was over weight and under powered, it sure didnt compare to the 5 Series or the E Class overall. I always thought it was a good looking car, but to drive it you soon realized it was nothing special.

I also think the RL was overshadowed by the TL and TLS. When you compare the TLS and RL it's not much of a comarison, more power and cheaper price, not to mention the RL is a true land yacht.

The new RL -2007- is very apealling to me..
I guess since I am in the "older" crowd of TL owner...that is the car I am considering when the 'ol TL finally carps out or I when I get my fill of transmission problems. Acura replaced the tranny in late November, with only 40k Km on the clock.
I mean this car gets the white glove treatment. (no winter driving either!).
Creature comforts is gaining importance over just -brute performance-, but that's just me..

the RL has a tranmission that works!

But honestly, there's no comparison between the TL and the RL cuz they're in different classes. It's like people comparing the TL and the TSX, and we all know how much us TL guys would say that comparison is a ridiculous. The RL guys feel the same way.

The older modles RLs are ok but in my opinion it isnt worth it over the older TL if you are going to buy new. Now as far as the 05 and newer RLs go those are diffenently worth the money. They are NICE cars and I really like them. If I was in the range for a 50K car the RL would probably be it.

true.. the new RL's are wayyy over priced.. but my friend has an RL and i swear.. when u sit in it.. it feels so much better.. and the ride is much smoother too... i guess the suspension is tuned for strictly a luxurious ride.....

reason why i jumped at u was i hate peeps making stupid threads like the aspec spoiler thread and dis one how can u compare a tl wit a rl? if it was in the same class den yes but your talking about a 25000 difference. obviously anyone would take the higher class car. and wit the aspec thread you were acting like you had one in your house waiting for you. i think thats wack shit.....

k.. well.. understood, however.... for the ASPEC thread.... I have the CAMERA.....as well as a SPoiler (not that one) and no where in that thread I claimed it to be mine.... I wanted to get more info on that spoiler and opinions before doing a search to buy it...

as for Tl Vs Rl.. maybe i wasn't clear.... i'm talkin about the 2nd gen ones... not the 2005+ .... therefore.. only about 3-5K $ difference when buying the car now.. i see many of those cars on the road... and i always wanted to know what makes them so special over our cars considering the HP isnt' all that for a car of that size + .... i was expecting a much bigger difference then to hear small features ilke "tilt power steering wheel" and... "express fucken sunroof" .oh big fucken wow....

geez... besides... its curiousity... why did i buy my Tl when i could get an RL? rite... isn't that why ppl post shit on these forums to get info and answers..... and while i'm doing that... i don't appreciate u being a hardass.. trust me... i'm a very nice guy... i love to help.... if u meet me.. u'll know... but just dont' get on my bad side ... cars are not the only thing i deal with aite .....

ok i understand what your saying, it just that i (maybe we) dont like seeing peeps jack other photos and claiming its their, the way u were acting in the a spec thread was that u have the photos and spoiler, sitting at home, and ur at work and didnt post the pics yet, peeps pressure u to post it, and then it got exposed....yes i understand peeps post weird/stupid things on forums to get answers, but forsome reason the posts you were making just struck a nerve with me...

ah i know EXACTLY how u feel so i guess ur right... like there is this one guy.. i think gamezilla... like the first time he posted.. i was gettin so pissed cuz he was talkin like he was this big pimp on the road but i guess it was the post that got me upset... but turned up that he is just like every one of us.. who love our cars and are here to help each other...

neways.. we cool. and i was at work at the time so i couldn't post the pics and thats y it took a while.
