2nd Gen Rules!!!
is it just me, or do you guys think a modded out 2nd gen looks better than a modded 3rd gen? i still can't come to grips with that 04! i know i'm biased, but i was right next to a white one the other day, and was like "eh" whatever? was looking at some photoshop jobs on the 04, drops, kit, rims, etc...for some reason there is something weird about that car? thinking about an rsx type-s as a fun second!!! any opinions on the rsx guys? anyone have one?

I personally like the 2nd generation better too. I think it just looks a lot cleaner and a bit more luxurious looking then the 04's. Even though a nicely modded TL is very very nice, I like the 2nd generation better....at least for now.

3rd gen lacks personality. It just looks like a slightly bigger TSX. IMO exterior styling I like the TSX. Interior-wise...well that I gotta say it is truly amazing

Wait until someone slams there 3rd gen., puts a nice 19" with a lip on it, a unique body kit and nice tint. You guys may feel different. Plus the 04' interior is just plain sick!!!

yeah the interior is a given, we know that's bomb. one of the guys on the forum (love9po), has NBP w/Ebony Interior, got some nice Chrome Zenetti Rimz, its wikid. but still, the luxury aspect is lacking.

One thing is that I do think it's more luxurious looking then our second gen. Not quite as sporty, but it does look a little more luxurious. Personally I like the sport luxury look, so that could be why I like the 2nd Gen better. So far in total I've seen two 2004 TLs that made me go whoa..... one silver TL lowered with RH C5 rims and one white TL with the Acura bodykit, 35% tint and the anthracite 18" Acura rims..... pretty hot... so I do agree that lowering it, adding the kit and rims will change the way it looks somewhat... so maybe that's what I need to look for

People, there's nothing wrong with the 2004 TL. The reason some of us still prefer the 2nd gens is because it was a completely different type of car in terms of looks. The 2nd gen is larger and has that big-body, cruiser type of look. It's low profile and can bite you in the a$$ if you try to cut off the driver or try to race him/her. It's basically a lot of things the 2004 isn't. Atleast, these are the reasons why I prefer my 2002 TLS. What do you guys think?

3rd generation sucks, looks wack, and never turns my head. When I traded in the TL-S it never even crossed my mind to try the 3rd cause its just plain wack. I love the 2nd gen especially with a nice OEM kit, WW spoiler, and my old Advan Model 5s in Bright chrome...... ahhhh how I do miss those, but im sure Mason is taking good care of them babies.
Oh and I f'ing LOVE the TSX, I know I always say it but, man if they came out with a TSX type S

I think the 3rd gen A-Spec looks way better than a 2nd gen with a body kit. The A-Spec kit looks more integrated than the 2nd gen body kit, which IMO looks kind of tacked on. Also, I think an unmodded 3rd gen looks better than an unmodded 2nd gen. Too many blue hairs driving unmodded 2nd gens.

I like the new technology in the 3rd Gen. DVD-Audio, Bluetooth, much better Navi. Exterior style, it looks too much like many other vehicles. For the longest time I kept confusing it with the Cadillac CTS. And when I was in the market, back in December, they were not taking even a penny off the sticker. I am sure glad I got the 2nd Gen.

I agree with calidog. Second gen looks very classy, yet sport at the same time. Not many cars can pull that off. I get compliments wherever I go.
Third gen looks cool and edgy, but I don't like edgy styling. With the second gen, the designer knew when to put down the pencil. Not so with the 3rd. They went a little too far.

Believe it or not, I still get people staring at my car. Still nice enough to make heads turn. That's gotta say something about the design
once in a while people will still ask me "nice, is it new?"

They are both nice but there are a few things.
The 2nd gen is nice and classy while the 3rd gen is a little more aggressive. Don't get me wrong, I wish 270 HP was std. on 2nd gens as well as the bluetooth and other features in the 2k4.
I'm sure the 2k4 will grow on me though lol.

2nd v.s. 3rd
the one thing I hate about 2nd gen is there are sooooo many of them here in my area - there are 5 in my parking lot right now - it kind of kills the "oooh" factor..where as there are not as many 04's running around right now.
that and you can get an 04 in a 6 speed

true there are a lot of TLs, but that's why you mod it, to give it an unique character! Mine is not modded too much but enough to pull it away from the average TL. I wish I had all the interior goodies of the 3rd generation but I think it'll take me another year or 2 for the styling to grow on me

I like to the 99-03 body style better. The back of the new TL bugs me. Way too much surface area back there and the headlights don't look as nice as the 02-03 models.

I got the TL because of the availability of the Type-S. I remember seeing the commercial and saying.."Damn, that car looks clean." Well, I got one and no regret...yet...hahaha knock on wood.
