2nd Gen. Modifications?
Hey everyone, just had a quick question about some modifications I want to do to my 01 TL. I have to get a misfire problem taken care of, but after that she should be good to go. I have an AEM v2 cold air intake in the car right now, and I get a nice deep sound from that. I was thinking about putting in Megan racing headers and a Megan catback. Any ideas on whether or not these would be good modifications? I want to get a loud but deep sound from the exhaust. Thanks everyone. Also, has anyone been able to find jdm black housing headlights for this car? I can only find them for the 02 TL.

Those sound good. I also didn't know there was a megan catback. If you want even more power swap out your crank pulley for a lightweight one. There are black depo headlights you can get just search on google and type in 02-03 black housing headlights.

he has an 01 different lights than 02+
I bought blacked out units on ebay several years ago for my 01,,still work fine and no leaks
seller gone but others are there! they were ~$175 pair iirc
for the money I would install a BOMZ brand light crank pulley for actual useable power,, over headers and catback,,,or all 3 if you want to blaze
40 bucks for bomz will free up 5-7 actual hp at the crankshaft
removing 8+ pounds of 10,,thats huge increase in abilty to spin up quickly into vtec rpm
make sure to register with acura care 1 800 382 2238x5 as new owner and verify all recalls done
also with www,owners.acura.com get free owner book download and store radio security codes there for free

Missed the part that he had an 01. I would do headers and pulley you'll get the most power increase with those two. Then if you still have some money get the exhaust since it is mostly for sound not much gain.

Thank you everyone I really appreciate the great advice and how friendly everybody is on here. I can't wait to get my car running smoothly again, and I'll get some pictures up. I'm also going to do a bixenon conversion kit, and some Konig black rims with a red outline wrapped in Yokahama all season tires.

you know we already have HID low beams- right?
paint the brake calipers and rusty parts of rotor with bbq or caliper paint
black is stealthy
consider upgrade brakes with legend calipers and SS lines

Yes, we do have HID low beams, I was thinking about getting the conversion kit to have the slim ballasts, but I do like the factory HID's. Black sounds good for the calipers.

www.hidextra.com for slim ballast and rest of hid kit for when yours get waterlogged
their standard ballast size is smaller than a deck of cards,,fits in palm of your hand!
weight is a fraction of that brick sized OE unit
have not seen their actual slim ballast, its offered for motorcycles and tight situations
I mounted the ballast with zip ties to the outside of frame rail
its not going anywhere that way!
all parts are waterproof with sealed connections
brakes:
cleaning, prep work, is 90% of a good job painting calipers
mine got all the visible suspension parts in wheel area painted black too
