Thumbs up 2800 Miles in 5 days - an amazing ride!

I just came back from a 2800 mile trip from FL to NH & back (family emergency) in a 5 day window. I've had my 03 TL-S NAVI for about 9 months now and this was the first time I had taken a long trip with it. I was completely impressed!

The NAVI (Updated DVD) was extremely accurate and an incredible resource.

I averaged 31 MPG on the highway, while travelling at 80-90 mph. I squeezed 455 miles out of a tank of fuel!

The seats were VERY supportive, my back never got tired or sore.

The stereo with it's 'auto search' feature was fantastic for finding some tunes and talk easily along the way.

All in all, I'm very thrilled with this car. I know we get alot of (justified) complaints on this board. I just wanted to share some good news with the group!

Lots of stress for you there but at least you had the TL-S to
relax and unwind in.

PCJ7445, it's amazing the mpg we get from the TLS. I get around 31-33 mpg driving a constant 85 on the Florida Turnpike. It is strange hearing about " good TL-S news on this site. Hope all is well with your family.

Road trips in these TL's are great. I did 2900 miles (Virginia to Oregon) in 2 days and never once had a complaint.

Well, I did it in 37 hours of total driving time. Thats not including sleeping, eating, etc. Also, I have a '97 TL so I was filling up more frequently.

Just got back from trip to ATL. Got 33mpg on the way there and 35mpg (new personal best) on the way back. Trip there was during the day and I accelerated hard a few times. Trip back was at night and the whole way I drove 80mph.

How do you like your Icebox? Where did you get it and how much was it?

Thanks.

Nice, haven't taken my TL-S on a road trip yet but its been great. Navi is accurate even if its one update old now. Seats are supportive but occassionaly I find myself in the passanger seat and personally I think it needs lumbar support but otherwise its been a great car.

Can't be traveling faster than 75MPH now. B@st@rd CHP pulled me over for 80MPH last weekend. Ah well, need to sign up for traffic school and pay the fine.
