2400 mile road trip, lovin my TLs
Folks,
Just got back from a long road trip over the course of 5 days.
Drove from Minneapolis to Denver then to Rapid City and back to Minneapolis in my 03 TLs. Just about 2400 miles with all the little trips in between. I'm from Denver and I used to be stationed in Rapid City back in the day and went to check out some folks.
Let me just say that this is a great road car. I had it on the two lane roads in South Dakota and workin the sport shift in the hills and wide open roads felt sweeeeet. Not to mention passing people in 3rd gear with their mouth wide open like....man, that car has some power.
We got us some great cars folks! You know that already though. Oh yeah, averaged about 33 mpg. I think my K&N came in handy for that and the HIDs on the open road at night helped me avoid about 3 deer and a family of raccoons. Front end of my car looked like a psychadelic quilt with all the bug splats though.
Oh, and my new XM radio/Blitzsafe install came in soooo handy. Music, news and comedy without ever using the radio. I don't miss using Seek and Scan now that I have XM. Just wanted to share my TLs road trip story. Thanks for your time.

Nothing like hitting a freshly paved highway at 70 mph in 3rd gear, on a wide curve.
That was my most satisfying drive in ANY car. I was coming home from a friend's house at 5 in the morning. Highway was completely empty, fresh pavement... wow. That's when I REALLY fell in love with my car. I felt at one with her (no dirty thoughts :p).

I can't wait for my first road trip in the TL-S this coming thanksgiving. 400 miles one way to Oregon. I bet the trip will go fast because this car just glides on the freeway.
