Taken from vtec.net: According to this cars.com story, the "redesigned" 2004 Acura RL will be presented to the public next week in Chicago. It is anticipated that this RL is not in fact the long awaited FMC (full model change) of the RL, but yet another freshening. Word has it that this "redesigned" model will mostly be limited to an interior update and some cosmetic exterior freshening. There is still little in the way of information on the FMC, which is expected to appear some time in 2004 as an '05 model.

 

Good, let Honda take its time to release something that is great... Or at least they better

 

i love the RL!! but i'm too young for that.
i hope the new model will have a HP boost.

 

So after the FMC, hopefully the RL will have RWD, possibly V8 power, if not at least 280 bhp V6, and of course that competively priced base price.

That car is just not competing in sales with other flagships and its sad.

The FMC is desperately needed no matter the delay.

been a lurker for a while now thought i'd register and put my thoughts into this topic. I came across a possible sketch of 2004-05 acura RL. This is from mag-x.com which is reporting that the sketch is of a Honda Legend which is acura RL here in the states.

that looks more like the honda version of the tsx..That should be coming out sometime soon..

I said it before and I'll say it again. The next RL (God I hope they change the designation) will be a 300HP+ V6, RWD (slight possible for AWD), have a curving roofline ala Audi A4, a sharply rakish front end like the TL but a far more pronounced V under the A logo, very aggressive headlight array. Inside will have Electro lum dash, navigation and controls will be jog wheel based as display screen it far too recessed into the dash to be suitable as touch.

 

i don't want to be an ass, but honda version of the tsx? u mean euro/jdm accord? lol
also, this is NOT a totally new model. the new model will be '05. i don't think there are any exterior changes, just interior electronic crap. so don't get your hopes up when this updated one comes out and everybody starts *****ing cuz they were expecting a brand new model. this is NOT it.
but i'm pretty sure ppl will miss my post and still complain.

 

I just saw last weeks Motor Week (PBS) which had coverage of the Paris Auto Show from late 2002. The car from the above sketch was there in all it's spot lit glory. To me it looks like the Honda version of the TSX. It's too small to compare to the "Next" RL that I saw and described above. Oh did I say, I saw? :wow:

 

I believe what iNteGraz92 is trying to say is that there is no such thing as the honda version of the TSX. The TSX is the Acura version of the Euro Honda Accord.

Timelines are important when speaking in a historical context.
