2003 TLS Fog Lights
Noticed my fog lights are not the same color of the head lights. Is it possible to get them to look alike (and is it legal) without a major install. Say, like a simple switch out of the bulbs?

If you are willing to spend 12 bux shipped, on ebay go look online for ur fogs as "Koba 9006." I've used mine for over a year and it hasn't burned out and is just as white as the HID. If you want the high beams too, there's the combined package of about 25 bux shipped. I got both my highs(9005/HB3) and fogs(9006/HB4) changed.
HIGH + LOW BEAM (NO REAL DIFFERENCE)
LOW + FOG
Head On (LOW + FOG)

The function of your headlights/ foglamps and the bulbs are totally different. Your headlights are for normal driving and your foglamps assist you in inclement weather giving you a "flood" beam of light which shines the lower part of your path. There are 9006 HID conversions out there but I don't know if it will make the foglamps any better. It has a different reflector than the headlights.

Sorry link broken, seems i can't link directly to pictures. Here are new links. As for HID in the fogs, I don't think they are that helpful for the price being charged. I would do it for High Beams but not fogs... but i'm going to pass that too. These bulbs serve their purpose well. Here's the link again, clink on my car album.
I've compared them to PIAA lights, no real big difference in light output and light appearance. Not to say brand name not different, but just no visual difference.

Make sure you get decent, reliable bulbs and not those HID imitations. Once you get used to taking the lamp casing on and off, it's easy. I used a set of Philips WeatherVision 9006WV on the fogs. They give somewhat of a yellowish beam and worked great on foggy and hazy days. About $20.00 a pair at Wally Mart.

Mines work just fine. They output white and have lasted way over a year. As for my TL yeah they look even better since '91 integra housings suck at aiming light. All in all, output was way better than the stock halogen you get at Kragen. Cost a total of 5.95 + 7.00 shipping(rip off shipping but i don't care) to get them. I bought the High+Fog package for TL on ebay for 17.95 + shipping = around $26(Listed under "Koba" (9006/HB4 Fogs and 9005/HB3 for Highs). That's about same price when i tried the Sylvania cool blues from Kragen, only i get both fogs and high-beams for that price of one. Installation was easy, headlights is straight forward turn 1/4 of the way and pull out. Fogs were tricky but quick and ez after you figure it out. I removed bolt under fog on bottom rim of bumper(you'll find a hole to get to it. Then just take a long slender flathead and with a cloth to pretect ur bumper and fog housing, get the flathead into cloth and pry through inside of housing. it'll pop out real fast without any work. Hope that was helpful. (Takes ~10 min to do High's and Lows).
Yeah i took a chance with the so called imitations... Using the Eaglite's first and then seeing koba looking alot better. These going more than 14 months = I'm happy.

2. So far over 6mo, but I have this type of bulbs before on my Maxima and lasted over 3yrs(before I traded for the TLS)
3. Yes they are legal in all States.
4. Not cheap, about $80 w/tax.
They are worth every penny.

YEah they are street legal, forgot to mention. OF course even if you added HID to the fogs, it doesn't make difference like Max says. But I never liked stock "Yellow" halogen bulbs. I prefer white since that's teh greatest output of light.

ummmm supose yellow projects better in fog and stuff, so that's why fog lights are yellow. I like to change mine to something yellower, like that ones on the lexus. But if u have no fog in your area, then know your self out with the whites.
