![Question](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I know this may seem like a dumb question, but i really cant make up my mind! I love the Black 2003 TL Type S, but i am afraid that it will be too hard to keep clean. Currently, I have a Black 97 3.2 TL rite now. It was really hard to keep clean. The Silver Type S looks great too..but for sum reason i just like the Black color better!
About 80% of my friends say to get the Black. the others say to get silver since it will be easier to keep clean.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

there is nothing like a shiny black car......but they just require so much time to keep looking good
I was debating between black and silver, I've always had dark colored cars, so I thought I'd give myself a break this time and get silver!

what is your occupation and when do you work?? Get a bunch of cleaning supplys and buy the BLACK CAR!!! It is the bomb when all shined up.. Yes it requires a commitment but at least you will clean your car more often unlike leaving it Dirty SILVER... It will make you clean your car more and your car will be the shiniest.
I know its a hard choice but theres too many silvers and Black is nice looking..
IN MY OPINION GET THE BLACK

Yes Black is best when new. But years down the line Black looks awful. Black ages faster. It fades more. Swirl marks show up. Dings show up more. Bits chipped off from sand and road debris are more obvious.
My only gripe with silver is that it only comes with the ebony interior. I guess it is offered this way because it wouldn't match with the tan interior. But then they should come out with a more neutral lighter leather interior that does match the silver better. I don't like the ebony interior because dirt show up more and then the interior is harder to keep clean. If you get black you can get the interior in tan. So that is something else to consider! Toss up one way or the other isn't it?.

If you want to spend every weekend cleaning your car, get black. I usually always get white cars because I think they look nice and are easy to take care of.
I recently bought my type s and I got the anthracite (shadow gray) and I love this color. You don't see alot of them on the road and its not that bad to keep clean. I already put 6 coats ofZaino on it and it looks awesome..
I would also get the ebony interior. Tan will age must quicker and fade, I know this for sure, my last truck had tan leather.
Good luck in your choice..

I agree with everyone else - Black looks best when clean but requires much more effort to keep it that way. Plus scratches show more on black. Silver is one of the easiest colors to maintain.

I lived in the midwest and soon the road will be dusted with salt and sand for the snowy days. Silver hides the winter road dust much better than dark color. Since the weather is unpredictable during the winter in my area, a washed car will get dirty quickly.
It can get expensive if I want to keep a black car clean all the time.

If you aren't anal about keeping your car clean black would not be a wise choice. I have Diamond White Pearl with a tan interior and I love it--
One thing is for certain, once you have made your mind up, you will have a great car in the color you wanted! :smokin:

One other thing to consider, other than the cleaning issue (check my sig, I know...the aegean blue is a b!tch to keep clean); how much do you like to stand out? Silver cars just seem to be EVERYWHERE these days, prolly because of easier to keep clean. The darker, shinier cars just seem to stand out more. Just my opinion

Like everyone says, black is way beautiful when it is cleaned and detailed. If you are a picky person about how your car looks then go with the silver. I could not keep my black Saab Turbo clean enough. It was sweet when it was clean though...Looked like $h1t when it was dirty.
I noticed you live in the midwest, and like tls988 said, soon the roads will be a mess and so will your TL. Doesn't matter what color!
Good luck with your choice. Mine is silver.

i was watching something on tv...
black shows empowerment, classiness, and strength..
better for rolling up to a nice restaurant and having a hot girl in a nice black dress step out ur shiny black car one leg at a time...
silver is contemporary and youthful.
if we were in the future and wore those silver space suits and crap... (i dunno tried to think of something but horribly failed)
anyhow get black... the black pearl has this weird effect and shininess to stand out ..........

The darker colors don't hide dirt and scratches as well as a light color car. There are plenty of salt and sand on the road during the winter in the midwest. The black car would require more car washs to look clean.

I just got a NP Black a few weeks ago.
It is a B***H to keep clean, but I knew it going in.
Black is the classiest color, but look on spending 10 extra minutes every morning hosing it down and wiping the dirt off.
Silver is the best for hiding dings and scratches.
White is also good for hiding dirt, as long as the car does not get wet.
