2003 TL-S vs. 2003 Accord V6 EX-L coupe 6spd

I've been wanting to get 3G TL but of course my budget isn't allowing me
So I've been looking at these two cars and I can't really decide which one to get. I'd like some opinions and inputs comparing these two cars. Both have high mileage on it (approx. 120k).

03 TL-S
Pros: luxurious model, higher horse power, better sound system
Cons: Possible transmission problem, classic looking interior

03 Accord EX-L coupe
Pros: Modern looking interior, 6 spd
Cons: Honda vs. Acura?

What do you guys think? Feel free to add more to Pros and Cons list.

Although I love my TL, I'd take the Accord because of the added reliability and cool factor of the 6spd manual.

you have got to be kidding me? The stereo in this car Bloz.. Pobably because it is Bose. My In-laws 12 year old town and country mini van puts this cars stereo to shame. Want to hear a great stereo, go sit in a Genesis with the good Lexicon stereo. (hell even teh base stereo in it makes the TLs sound like small hand held radio)

accord, stay away from the ticking time bomb 5speed auto

the 02-03 tl-s is such an awesome car except for the trans, but its a fatal flaw

Go with the Accord V6. You won't be dissapointed. As much as I like the 02-03 TL-S (and almost bought one) I went with the accord. Its the newer Gen and built on the same platform as the 3rd gen TL. Plus like everyone is saying 6MT over 5AT.

Transmissions aside, does the Accord have anything comparable to type-S TL?

if your going all stock get the tl s
everyone above is assuming that the tranny has not been changed most likely if u buy a tl with 120 the previous owner got the transmission changed which is the best 5 speed on the market and has MUCH better pickup tie than the 6sp manual plus if u cant drive stick just dont even bother or ur accord will be trashed within a week
secondly performance on the tl s is way better accord can only it 135
tl s hits 166 at a heavier weight too
and better gas mileage
tl s is the way too goo

Think about what is practical to you as well. TL is 4dr, and you said the Accord is a coupe (2dr). Which would be more practical for you? I'm sure the Accord is cheaper...or at least it should be...quite a bit.

Shit man, I wish my Tl got good gas mileage and didn't have tranny issues (even after the replacement) and could do 166

that'd be a sweet car. but I have to say the TL-P seats are very comfortable

Screw the accord this is a acura site and everyone is going on about accords when in the end the tl-s is nicer and take a look at the accord it might have a higher resale value but wich will make you happier in the end.

you could keep your 99-03 tl with the slushbox (ticking timebomb) automatic transmission or you could be proactive and completely avoid that situation by getting the AV6 6MT. Honda gave us TL owners and AV6 owners the good ole fuck you with our autos so you pick the better option.

you have a lot to learn

The accord is the better choice in this situation. The 3rd gen TL is based off of the accord. Its a newer platform. The 99-03 TL is based off of the 98-02 accord. Plus the 6MT is a MUCH better tranny than the 5AT. The 2nd gen TL is a fine vehicle don't get me wrong but in the end the accord is the better purchase.
