im not sure where to put this, so mods move if needed.

has anyone switched out their 02-03 key fobs for a switchblade? i was thinking about doing the mod.

i've found several posts about other cars but not our 2gs.

That's why you should search the 2G TL forum.

Its always the same thing on on here. Whenever someone asks for something that may have already been talked about before they were registered, everyone just tells them to use the search button, when tbh this search isnt the best.

Why not just help out another former aziner if you already know the answer...

Heeltoe says the buttons and immobilizer can't be programmed to the 2G TL/CL as is.

But you could figure out a way to retro the existing keyfob insides to use with the switchblade buttons. You'd also need to figure out a way to connect the key and immobilizer to the switchblade.

It'd be one hell of a retrofit...

speaking of immobilizers, i dunno if mine is not working or not, but i bought a honda key (so i could lock the doors while i warm the car) off ebay, had it cut by acura, but they didn't do anything as far as the immobilizer goes, but suprisingly enough, it starts the car.

Because there isnt a question out there that hasnt been answered on this site. It would be faster to search than to wait for answers and replies like this one and others.

The search button works GREAT. You just need to familiarize with its options. Going the advanced route, selecting 2nd gen, relevancy, and other options will REALLY narrow things down. Placing your "Keywords" in "quotes " helps as well.

With what i did in this image below gave me 20 results on switchblade in 2nd gen TL, and ONLY 2nd gen tl

You may not find one because our transponder doesnt work with the newer keys.

I agree with you that theres not a single question that hasn't been answered on this forums. If there werent people asking somewhat of the same questions, that may have been talked about acouple years ago... we would run out of topics because everything is already answered

Yeah, the advance search works well. I was mainly talking about the quick search. When I use the "search this forum" button in the 2g section and type in a keyword, the results that ive had come back sometimes haven't helped me.

Im not trying to bash the site. I'm just saying, if someone asks a question and someone knows the answer, why not just type the answer instead of typing "use the search button"

I wish there was a switchblade for our car tho...

There's a few on ebay, but they don't have trunk buttons, and look pretty cheap

I saw a website not too long ago that would make swithblade keys for pretty much any car. You could pick the size of the actual key, and the fob part. I wonder where that went?

Because then the forum would be cluttered with pages and pages of more of the same thread. Why not add to one that is already made, with possible answers in it. It makes more sense to add to one ore get answers from one than to make countless threads with the same topic. Not to mention searching is faster than waiting for someone to reply
