2003 Navigation Error

Help. I did a quick search and didn't see my exact problem listed. So I am hoping someone can help me.

I turned my car on today and the PIN screen was on. I don't use a PIN, so I pressed done and it did nothing. This won't go away and I can't use the navigation. I need my navigation. THe clock is way off on time, the AC screen works. I just can't get passed the PIN screen.

Can one help me???? Isn't there something I can do without having to run to the dealer.

Thanks!!

Susan K.

your pin should be located in the card acura gave you which had the radio code also. check where the manual is.

should be like a business size card next to ur manuals.

You are awesome. It worked like a charm. Now why they couldn't tell me that when I called the dealer, who knows. This is why I love message boards.

I wonder why that happened though. It was not disconnected from the battery. Could the cold weather have anything to do with it?

Thanks.

If you had no problem with radio, the battery was not disconnected. But it is possible that you have a bad contact in Navi somewhere. Looks like you just got the car, so if it is the problem, you will see it again, and then can get it fixed under the warranty.

Hi and welcome to the boards! It was probably just a boot error from the disc...don't be too worried. The navi. should be the last thing that should break in our cars

BTW, what year/model TL do you have? .. and again, welcome aboard!

I have a 2003 Acura TL w/ Navi - Anthracite about 42000 miles. I love it. Now I want the 2004 though. I think I will wait unti the '05's come out to get a new one.

I am also looking into a remote starter. I will research the boards and see what people are saying before I buy one.

I also want a rear window shade. So I will do a search to see if anyone has asked about that as well.

Thanks again. :worship:

Nice color choice! I don't know what your money situation is but here's a link for a rear sunshade..http://value-caraudio.com/Merchant2/...y_Code=INPARTS

I would suggest getting tints, which helps greatly during those hot summer days.

I am having this problem for couple of years now. In winter navy gets reset for some reason. Two - three times during the season - and only in winter. You loose your settings and "most resent destinations". One more thing – there are also lines/strips running down the screen. They are just slightly darker than the screen and don't bother me much. I'd talked to the dealership and they did everything they could: they called Acura and guess what - Acura never heard of a problem! Then – with no charge - dealer changed control unit and when it didn't help they change the screen too – (that was good because I scratched it while cleaning! ). Nothing helped - but I don't bother them anymore with this because it's not that big of a deal. I think that the battery may be a cause. I am going to change it this fall - we'll see.
