2003 Honda Accord COUPE - Warning: Big Pics
The Accord Coupe finally makes an appearance. Looks like a CL (either Acura or Mercedes) in the rear and an RSX in the front to me..... either way... it's a lot nicer then the sedan pics!!
Bunch of more pics and info (specs) here:

that rear end... looks a lot like recent merc sports cars! like the SL/CL ..... (looking at my neighbor's new SL500 parked outside, who used to have the CL500)
hmmm it has potential to look good, but the stock one still doesn't cut it

The shots in silver look pretty good. A quote from MSN Carpoint article today says "And in September it will try to recapture its lost youth by unveiling a dramatic makeover of its flagship model, the Accord." ...while displaying a pic of the 4 door model. Somehow, I do not see this as a 'dramatic' makeover...at least the coupe is a bit more of a departure from the norm.

"All 4-cylinder models get the 2.4L i-VTEC motor (K24) which debuted in the 2002 CR-V. It is rated at 160hp @ 5500 rpm and 161 lb-ft @ 4500. A 5-speed manual transmission is standard in all 4-cylinder models, with an all-new 5-speed automatic available.
The 3.0L V6 has been extensively reworked for a 20% increase in horsepower and a 7% increase in torque (240hp@6250 rpm, 212 lb-ft@5000 rpm). For sedan models, the motor is only available with an automatic transmission. In early 2003, a 6-speed manual transmission will finally be offered with the V6, but only in the Coupe model. Some items of note include an all new Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system, a new high-inertia intake manifold design, high-flow/low-restriction exhaust system, 3-rocker VTEC system with roller followers, and a new cylinder head design which integrates part of the exhaust manifold. Even with all this technology and added performance, the new motor achieves better fuel efficiency numbers than before, and it only requires regular unleaded fuel."

Are my eyes deceiving me? The lighting of the gauges looks lexus-like! I love it! Overall, it's not bad. IMO, the interior looks much better than on all the previous accords. And now it has the engine to back it up.:wow:

Three Wheelin'
I knew I wouldn't like the new Accord when it came out. I think the Coupe looks ok at best. The front is weird looking on both the sedan and coupe. THe rear of the Sedan is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. I would not buy this car... Hopefully they dont mess up the new TL when it debuts next year.

I like the additional features of dual climate control, side curtain airbags, 2nd generation navi, more steering wheel button controls, and of course added horsepower. Hopefully, this will mean the new TL will have those along with other new features. I'd be very disappointed if they don't have telescoping steering wheels.

Only things I like about new Accord so far is the guages(if they are really lexus-like), and the multi-function steering wheel....
Also, the size of new Accord Coupe looks like Mercury Cougar.....IMO, they really screw up the look of Accord this time....

Christ, This is what we've all been waiting for!? This!? Could it possibly look less aggressive? They might as well sell this thing with a premanent pink bow on the hood.
Still waiting for the 2004 TL, TSX, or Mazda 6.
I am getting pretty tired of the appearance of these japanese cars. Might just have to suck it up and get the punishing ride and tire and brake consuming Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution next year or go with a European make and really dry the wallet out.

The coupe doesn't look too bad. I could deal with it. The sedan is just plain fugly, however...even my wife (target audience) thinks it's fugly, but she's nicer about saying it than I am.

The problem with this board is that most of you are about 22 and are still @ the stage of " I need a stylish hotrod that goes like shiet.
Honda and Acura are not style setters, in particular the Accord and TL, which makes me wonder why most of you guys have a TL.
To me the coupe looks great although its too small for my family of 4.
The sedan aside from the shietty colour, (I hate beige), I like a lot and continues on with good looks of the 1998 to 2003 Accord. I have a 1998 and still like its looks. I also have the 2002 TL which I also like its looks.
Honda and Acura are doing something right, as the sell a boatload of cars, at a decent price.
The nice thing about our understated cars is that when you really need it, we have excessive power under the hood that can blow a lot of cars right out of the water, unless you are talking upper 3 series, 5 series, Mercedes, Audis etc. However these cars are in a whole different price range. I would love a 5 series but it is not in the price budget, and I might need some money left over when I retire.

That doesnt look good at all especially the front, its just not right. The tires look to small for a car that thick, I do agree that the gauges are great and yes they copied Lexus.

The silver photoshopped one is just plain gross.
However, I really like the 2nd purple one with all of the spoilers.
I'll just need to see one in person until I pass judgement.
I didn't care for pictures of the S2000, either, but I love that car in person. We'll see...
