I got a used tl type s 6 months back and i already had the transmission changed because of their defects in the transmission. I also have a 2003 honda accord that had the same problem with it jerking, etc. But, now 3 months after they changed the transmission there is a really loud humming noise coming from the engine. When i open the hood i can hear it very loudly. i can also hear it while im driving. I was wondering if anyone would know what it is? Or should i get it checked out by the dealership. Thanks

Make sure that the intake plumbing is hooked up, there should also be a small resonator on the bottom of the intake between the air filter and throttle body. Thats where i would start. The intake is known to hum with the resonators removed. If thats not it or you cant figure it out bring it in.

Theres also a clicking sound where the engine stops right infront of the windshield, but still under the engine. It sounds like a gas stove trying to get come electricity. Its like click click click click click, etc

thats the purge control solenoid. Its normal. If your still under warranty have the dealer replace it. If not you can buy it yourself and do it very easily

I too have the same sound as well as two of my buddys who own TLs. Is it something that we don't need to worry about or should it be replaced. It really doesn't bother me.

I have the same noise and I took it in and the Acura dealer explianed that it is common. I didn't have them change it but now the noise seem to be getting louder....and more annoying....I'm going back.
