2003 Acura TL - Splash Guard

Hello AcuraZine users,

My splash guard is jacked up. It is fastened securely on the right side of the vechicle, but has to be held up with string on the left side for now till I get the money to have this fixed. Also the middle has a bunch of rips and holes in it. Car sits low and ran over a piece of tire tread.

Few questions:
What is the purpose of the splash guard?
How much do they usually run in price?
Does anybody have a video of how to install it?

Thanks for the feedback!

Are you really 26?

splash guards are self explanatory in purpose, and installation needs a few screws

As a matter of fact I just turned 26 today! Why, are you making fun of me since it is apparent that I know nothing of vehicles? I'm sorry I'm not on your level when it comes to this sort of thing. Anyway, thank you for your imput.

PS I'm not an idiot, I know what it's for really more or less I'm just trying to create 5 posts since I'm new to AcuraZine and have to wait 15 days before I can do any editing with my profile. I'm just trying to get all of the prerequisites out of the way.

I'm not making fun of you, I was just asking.

and since you're new, welcome to the boards and happy birthday.

getting ur post count high on this thread will be easy, and everyone knows you need prerequisites before doing much on Azine, we've all been there.

rather than making 3 threads of questions, you should have made a thread saying u were new, described ur vehicle, and mention ur questions and concerns.

again, welcome to the boards

How does the splash guard cut into the paint? Isn't the guard underneath the engine? Maybe i described the part that i need wrong! Are you referring to mud flaps? Cuz im talkin about the whole plastic part under the car! If u click on the link below, this is the piece i meant to describe!

Word well thats what i meant! I gotta get those clips and see if i can get a new one from the dismantler! I hope i can get one for cheaper than what im seeing online. If u know of any videos showing how to install that part please share! As far as the mud flaps! I dnt have those either! I think the car looks better without them!

lol in all honesty, i wouldn't even bother getting the part if i were u, but if u do u can prolly get it here
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/home.jsp

or u can show the prices here and ask if the stealership would price match it

installation should be easy, u line up the holes at the bottom of the bumper to the guard and u put the clips in and ur done

the guard will be on top of the bottom of the bumper

I don't need the shield itself but I do need the retainer pins. Namely the two on either side of the center jacking point. Then I may need a couple on the outer edge of the wheel well.

Does anyone have the stock part numbers for either of these?

Thanks guys...

just stop by the local dealer and tell them what you need
or use the HELP brand parts at local parts store- the staff can help you find the right ones

hey Kudos for searching and finding existing thread
