2002 tl type s
Hello. I just bought an 02 tl tpye s with 150,000 miles on it. Im in the process of doing repair and maintenance work, and noticed when i was flushing the coolant system with a chemical flush, it took a long time to come up to operating temp and the heat fans did not ever come on. Now, when i turned on the ac button, the cooling fans did come on immediately. The temp of the car stayed normal. I purchased a honda thermostat and replaced it, but havent tested it yet bc i have parts removed. Anyone ever have this experience? Thanks also the heat blower motor is working.

Hey thks for responding. I thought it would help clean the heater core real good. I followed the instructions exactly. I also ordered a new tem3o sensor from acura and will pick it up tnt. I just cant figure out why the fans did not come on.

How did the "water" look when you drained it? Muddy? Possibly you cleared out some minor blockage making the system more efficient?
Get an IR thermometer and check the temp of the return hose and tstat housing.
I don't use chemical flushes as you need to get all of it out before refilling.

Hey. The coolant was nice and blue and clean looking. I used at least 3 gallons on distilled water to flush all the cleaner out. When i changed the thermostat the coolant was also blue, with some residue from the heater ore. I installed new hoses, thermo and will do the temp sensor, next
to thermo tmrw. Is there another coolant temp sensor i should replace? I found this one on acura parts for less, number 15. Thanks for your help
