2002 TL Type-S or 2001 CL Type-S

I have found both of these cars used for a pretty good price. Both of them have low miles and both are pretty brand new. I just wanted input on what you guys think I b/c I am getting either one of these in 2 months.

2002 TL Type-S // Pearl White - Parchament Interior
2001 CL Type-S (Navi.) // Silver - Black Interior.

What would you guys pick?

The TL is non navi, and has 750 miles while the CL has 1,330.

Ooooh, that can be a hard choice!

I just went through this recently..

Which one of these matches you better:

Acura-TL-S
- You want to Carry friends , family around with ease
- You don't mind a bit more cleaning to keep the parchement
looking good
- You don't mind needing more car washes, because you have a white car
- You got the extra cash to spend on a TL-S over the CL-S you
are looking at
- You don't travel too much, and the navi is no big deal
- You like the better resale value of the TL-S
- You like the look of the TL-S better
- You like parchment and the brown wood trim better
- You want to add a ground effects kit easily
- Your going to keep your audio system stock and like having
the better sound system (added subwoofer) of the TL-S

Acura CL-S
- You want the Navi, you might even be able to get DVD movies
hooked up on it.
- You like the look of the CL-S better
- You like having silver, and the way it hides dirt, is a popular color
- You like the easy clean black interior
- You don't mind or like the blackwood trim
- You like the black interior
- You don't mind the lower resale value, because you are
going to save money up front!
- You like the sportiness of the 2 door

I ended up going with a TL-S, silver. The deal that tipped it in my favor, is I have a lot of friends and family that like to go places with me. I am glad that I have 4 doors. I plan on adding some
sort of navi later. But I could have gotten a CL-S with navi for
less than what I paid for my non navi-TL-S.

If the 4 door is not a big deal to you, and your good either way on the colors, then go read about the navi, there are a lot of threads on this board, about is the Navi worth it. Seems most think it is.

02 TL-S, Silver
- no mods

Given the choice between the TL sansNavi and the CL Navi... I'd go with the Navi.

I know you guys will think I'm biased towards the CL, but I actually prefer the looks of the TL. At the time of my purchase, the CL was just the better deal.

Awh man, you cant come in here w/ that kind of question....of course we'll tell you TL, but no pressure

BUYTHETLBUYTHETLBUYTHETLBUYTHETLBUYTHETLBUYTHETLBU YTHETL...

Really depends on what you want to spend, and if you are going to do mods on top of that.

If that's the case, I would go with the Nav. Huge difference on pricing. ($27K VS $23K)

No offense to the CL people but they are ugly. Ack, I was leaning towards the TL b/c of its styling, but NAVI*~arrrggghhh, this was one thing I said was a must on my car. Oh yeah, I forgot to add about the 2001 CL Type-S, it has the stock rims (17's) chromed. Looks dope. Dunno what I'm going to do.

lol, money's not a problem. In about 1 1/2 a year, I'm getting a brand new 2002 BMW M3 (Baby Blue Color) for college b/c I'm going out-of-state. I'm on the waiting list (blows) for it.

You answered your own question. You can't drive
a car that you think is ugly! So forget the CL.

You obviously can afford the TL, or you wouldn't
be talking about it. You already have a white
TL, so we also know you are kosher with 4 doors.

Now I think your real choices are..

Get the TL-S with out nav now, and load it up
later with a screen, either visor or in dash.

or save up or wait until the car you really want
becomes available at the price you are looking
for, a TL-S with navi.

02 Silver TL-S
- no mods
- no navi

a year and a half for a 2002 BMW M3, your going to get a year old model? In June July of 2003? That bites! :yack:

Man, if M3 is what you really want.. Why waste your time driving
a car for just one year. You are only going to waste more money.

Their are scads of 2002 BMW M3's available, go check out
http://www.cars.com search used, nationwide, BMW M3, then
organize by year. 25 of them are listed, most with under 200 miles on them.

But since you are made of money, forget the BMW and buy both the CL and TL!

It depends on the moeny. If you feel like you need to save money go with the CL. If you want to spend a lil extra go with the TL. They are almsot the same car and are both great. It's just a personal decision. Cl is a nice sporty coupe while TL is more agressive looking sports sedan. In the long run the TL will sell for far better than the Cl so you will loose less on resale. I think that either way you slice it, you are getting a great car.

I know the CL is ugly, but seeing as you wont be keeping this car for long why not go for somethign different? Personally I'd go NAVI all the way.

Don't forget the CL-s does not have an auto up window. For this reason, buy the TL-s

Oh yeah? lol Hmm...crap...someone help me out on this one. The best thing I could think of is that the front CL-S seats are better.

eheh, the thing is that my bro. gets whatever car I pick right now while I get the M3 when I go off for college. M3 is an M3, and I wouldn't mind with like a '95 M3 either. I think I'm going for the TL Type-S...CL Type-S is just too ugly for me, no offense to anyone that has a CL Type-S.

TL ALL THE WAY!!!!
