I just updated my vehicle locator file for Acura and at the top of the list is the 2002 TL Type S! It will be available in 7 different colors with 2 interior colors- Parchment and Ebony. It will also be available with Navi. No other info is given. No release date yet, but rumor is that it will be mid year! Will post more if I find out.

Yes, that is correct and Acura also will do a major face lift for 2002 TL's.
The sundance gold pearl will be a very limited production run with two tone interior, body color suede inserts on ebony for the seats, body color dorr inserts and body color steering wheel inserts.
It will also have Xenon fog lights standard as well as the memory seats and in-dash cd changer.
The 2002 CL-S will come with optional 6-speed manual transmission.

 

I have a guess as to what BS stands for...

Doesn't suprise me about the Type-S on the TL, I think that was going to be a given. Seems as how there's another year before the 2002 will be out I think I'll wait until then on the specifics, it's too far away for specifics IMHO. Haven't heard anything about a manual on the CL Type-S, that would settle a lot of car mags that ding it for not having the option, they should incorporate that into the TL Type-S if they really do it.... I can't wait though, it'll then have me wondering "TL or CL" next year when my lease comes up.

 

Wayneg is my service manager at Park Ave Acura ,trust me the 2002 TL-S is on it's way though we have no further information at this time other than ext.colors and interior colors.We pulled the information from our DCS system which is our direct link to Acura.

 

the tl will prolly come out in may as an early 02 model...

 

So how do we translate those colors? So far i've figured out EN=ebony PA=parchment BK=black adn GN=green but thatsit

 

i wonder what it'll look like...

How do we de-code this? I figure "PA" is Parchment, which would make "EN" Ebony. But I can't figure out BK, BS, BX...

I was wondering how they were gonna get people to buy the CL S over the TL S if they ever made one... good choice if they give the manual to the CL S. I have really no interest in the manual, can't wait for the TL S!!! OH BABY!!!

Are you for real on that question? Matter of taste; some people will want 2 doors, some 4. I suppose some CL owners out there are saying the same thing but the other way around!

It's like saying "I wonder how BMW gets people to buy white cars when black ones are so much better looking."

how come when i posted that the mechanics at the dealership told me that the tl-s is coming out i just got ragged on for being an idiot?

 

Don't forget that BMW made 2 and 4 door versions of the M3. They also have made an M5 wagon, and sedan at the same time as well.


As for colors... do I see what I think I see?? WY/EN ?? Is that a WHITE exterior with Ebony interior??? It's about time!!!

 

More then likely it was due to the fact that a million previous posts with the same subject and no concrete proof.

My bust Gomez... I wasn't thinking about that when I posted... I was only thinking about how everyone was saying the TL S sales would take sales from the CL S. Yeah I understand some people prefer coupe over sedan and vice versa...

 

Is either one of those white colors diamond white pearl?
