2002 TL Audio Question

I am looking to hardwire my Sirius radio in my 02 TL.

Can someone suggest a location as to where I can tap into for power? Driver's side fuse panel? If so, can you give me some tips on "How To"? I am pretty handy so I'm sure I can do it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

ALSO - Can someone recommend a good and reputable car audio installation shop?

Thank you!

You will probably get answers posting here, but you're posting in the 3rd gen TL forum, and your car is not a 3rd gen TL. You might want to post in the 2nd gen forum.

I just installed the Starmate replay in the sunglass holder above. I ran the power through a cigarette adapter to the outlet in the center consol.

If you take off the panel under the steering wheel and look at the back side of the fuse panel, there are 5 spots for a female spade electrical conector. 2 are switched, 2 are constant and 1 is switched with the headlights. I dont remember which ones are which but they are there

You can try to connect at Ign harness ..remember..some XM and sirius work on 6 or 5 volt..not on 12 Volt ..not like starmate work on 12V.. just make sure before you cut Cigrate lighter plug and hardwire it.. You can check on unit it self..it will say input Volt or on Lighter plug will show out put Volt

12 VOLT CONSTANT WHITE (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

ACCESSORY WHITE/BLACK (+) IGNITION SWITCH HARNESS

I was thinking about mounting mine in the same spot but I think Im going to try and trim away some of the plastice so I can see and touch ALL the buttons. does your remote work if your using it from the drivers seat seems like an odd ange for that lil Ir to reach. right now its suction cupped to my windshield right next to the rear view but the power is comming out of my center armrest and it looks like ass. waiting till the weather warms up to hard wire the power supply.

I wonder which is best to use. the constant on sounds great for the starmate replay because I can pause it and when I come back to the car and drive off I can listen where I left off. wondering how long till it drains my battery though?
