At random times first thing in the morning or even after the car has warmed up the engine will not start/crank/turn over. The battery is fine and the starter was just replaced 3 months ago. I have noticed that if I turn the steering wheel to the left prior to turning the key sometimes the engine will start.Other times it will not start and I just sit there for a little while until it decides to work….
From what I have read online I’m thinking it might be the ignition switch. Are there any other potential issues or tricks I should try before purchasing a new switch?

Thanks!

Could be a faulty ignition switch... I had the same problem. My fix was swapping out my old switch for a new one and re-soldering some points on my Fuel Pump Relay....

Other reasons could be bad spark plug(s) or coil(s)... Another good way to find your answers is searching through the Problem/fixes forums....

welcome to the forum, its not necessary to change the type size or style
smaller is tough for the old guys to read!

I agree its time for a new ignition switch BACK- just the electrical part not the key
any parts store for aftermarket part is fine
How many keys on your key ring? more than 3 is too many

As well as soldering the fuel pump relay board- see the diy section or problems and fixes subsection

again, welcome to the forum- your fix can always be found here!

Thanks for the information! I overlooked the Problem/Fixes forum but will use that in the future. The new switch will go in this weekend and I will check the fuel pump relay.

Thanks for the tips and warm welcome to the forum!

Is your engine cranking, but not starting? Or is it not even cranking? If it's not even cranking, check your battery ground cable where it attaches to the trans. They can corrode down to almost nothing. Don't rule out the starter either, especially if it's a house brand from auto-zone, o'reilly's, etc.
