i just found out that the regular 2002 tl will looks similar to the type s and the MSRP in canada is 37,000. It will be available in late march. the engine is the same, the front and the tail light are slightly different from 2001, it got an in-dash 6 discs changer, memory seats, fog lights and different style alloy wheels. would u buy the 2001 at a good price now or wait ror the 2002?

Unless you just have to have the Type-S (35 more horsepower, and a few other goodies) which is only available as a 2002, then a 2001 will do you fine.
A lot of us on this board feel that the 2002 styling is not as attractive as the 2001 model as well, but that's a personal preference thing.
I am extremely pleased with my 2001 TL, and feel that the car is easily much better than the I30 or ES300, it's two closest competitors.

I just got some info on the 02 from the dealer yesterday. Changes are the front bumper w/ fog lights, 5 star wheels, chrome emblem on a slightly redesigned steering wheel, different buttons on the radio. According to the dealer, the 6 disk is an option on the base TL.
