2001 tl transmission
Hello everyone! I have a hand me down 3.2 TL and I don't know anything about cars besides changing oil and checking fluids. I'll just try to make this fast and short:
Transmission started slipping
Check engine/TCS light came on/D5 blinking
Did research on this forum and tried a 3x3
Brother told me to touch battery wires together for 10 seconds to reset lights
Noticed slipping still when I go over 2k rpm
Babied my acceleration staying roughly below 2k rpm
Worked good for 1 1/2 day
Slipping is worst, all lights back on, fluid isn't red anymore but kinda black/burnt smelling
Yes I've searched the forum extensively and found out about the 06/07 accord swap but that's completely out of my budget range. My question is is there an alternative fix to this? I know there won't be, but I need some kind of hope/miracle

Go get the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) read that's stored in car's computer. Certain auto part stores will provide this service at no charge.
Change the external trans filter if you haven't done so already.
Check the solenoid's filters under pressure solenoids A/B and C if you can.
The filters under A/B are at the end of the three small pipes. C is self explanatory once you remove the solenoid.
Find a shop that has a "Vacuum Exchange" transmission fluild changing machine and tell them you want to change 100% your the ATF.
Remember Vacuum Exchange not Pressure Flush.
Good luck.

You can try all of those band aid, false hope fixes but at the end of it all, your transmission is still dying and soon to be dead. You need to start saving up money for an AV6 swap because sooner rather than later your car will leave you stranded on the road if you keep driving it.

Alright so I changed out my transmission filter because I didn't know it had a filter for that. Also, checked the solenoids like in the links you gave. Mine were just like in the video. Drove it today for about 40 minutes. From 20-35mph before this, the shifting was scary and rough, it's now smooth but I'm not really pushing it in fear of it'll mess up again. Going uphill shifting is great, before I would accelerate but go no where. I noticed when I did push pass ~2.5krpm at 20-35mph it ever so slightly slipped. I'm just glad it's working for now. Thank you so much!

You seem pretty handy to me. You should just flush it yourself. Go buy some cheap Dexron III ATF and do the 1x3 until the trans runs fairly clean then switch back to DW1 for the final 3x3.
1. Start with Dexron first just to flush the trans, say 5 mins of driving and shifting through in all gears. The idea is to purge atf not mix so short drive time. Do this 2x3. As in shifting the shifter with your hand... 1,2,3,D4,D5,R,N with couple seconds inbetween each gear.
2. Then drive for 20 minutes but in stop and go only. Stop as in full stop... full 1 second and spirited go. Go as in brisk not petal to the floor... maybe 1/2-3/4 to the floor. Fast enough to raise the frontend but nothing crazy, you don't want to cause damage... just for about 30-40 yards, no need to extend it into 2nd gear. The short sprints will help purge the torque converter. Shift through the gears as in #1. Then another 1x3 with Dexron.
3. When you go to drain n fill check the color of the atf. Depending how red/clean the atf looks keep doing #2 and #3 untill atf looks close to new atf. You must dump n fill atf while hot as possible (but don't hurt yourself). Rinse n repeat.
4. If trans is shifting good then finish up with dump n fill with DW1 3x3 with short 5 minute drive and shift in all gears. As in shifting the shifter with your hand... 1,2,3,D4,D5,R,N with couple seconds inbetween each gear. Remember, rotate ATF not trying to mix so 5 minutes or so of driving.
You can stop at anytime if the flushing is not yielding any benefits.

Actually you can use the Dexron III temporarily. You don't need to switch back on the same day to DW1.
Make sure you follow the owners manual when checking the atf level.

^ #2 above, I meant to say total drive time 20 min but, if it's cold where you are then drive longer. The idea is to get the ATF hot.
The first 10 minutes (longer if needed) should be normal driving with some steady highway speeds just to warm up the atf.
Finish up with the last 10 minutes doing the "Stop n go" procedure as noted above.

Ok so i finally got around to doing it today. Did every step you listed and drove it. It shifts extremely smooth now! Going up hill and accelerating is good, stopping and going is good. Fluid is clear. Thank you so much for the help! This is awesome
