JP8!!! your handle should be luckybstrd!
I thought only ~classified~ planes use that??

I have it on authority of Kris that they are full contact engines

Was using the Integra as example that yes, you can go past 105k miles-
and how far past just depends~!

Canuks should check their owner book- severe winter areas get t/belt MUCH sooner

Its nto a Japanese motor thing. Its just a honda used a belt. Chains dont last forever. Ive seen more chains break than belts, and stretch enough to start slipping and causing issues

Ok then! Thank you *jots down another item on list of car things to do*
Yeah, the GE F110 makes full contact - like the valves and pistons in our untimed engines apparently!
It is funny when in conversations, our posts are after one another - price of gas, and much being burnt.

Yes, I know this is a long dead thread, but I'm hoping someone will find it by accident. Can't get SEARCH to work, I figure I'll just throw that out there before someone says "hey jackass, did you try the search?"
On to the question; does anyone know what brand the original timing belts where? Bought my TL used with 83k on it, and it has a mitsubishi brand belt. Just hoping it's aftermarket so I can stop reading through timing belt threads.

Never mind on that, I'm an idiot. That's not the timing belt I was looking at.

What the heck does this mean?

If you timing belt breaks, kiss your engine goodbye.
