2000 TL still going strong!

Just had my 170000 kilometers (100K miles) service yesterday. Belts, pumps, various liquids, spark plugs, filters, etc, all replaced. Aside from the one replaced tranny in 2005 under warranty, this TL drives great, feels new, and still looks great for a 7 year old car that is driven everyday. After all these years, we're still happy with this car! Just thought i'd share some joy.

Awesome! I'm running up on 100k. I replaced my spark plugs and all fluids about 5K ago. I'm going to do the belts when it hits 100k, how much do you guys think it would cost to have this done at the dealership? How much is the entire 100K service at the dealership?

Badazz,

I'm in Canada but i would say it would be comparable to what you'd pay based on what i see in these forums. To replace the belt, pump, and pulley, cost me about $800CAD. It wasn't cheap at all. Add another $600 or so to service the brakes, tranny fluid change, oil change, new spark plugs, all air filters, all other belts, cleaned out engine/injectors, etc. MOst of the darn cost was in labour. Now in my case, all this stuff was due, so i just had it all done while the car was in the shop. I've noticed a big difference in that the car runs and idles much smoother like when i first got it. Don't have the vibration that i got used to after 7 years, and feels more "precise" in steering and braking. It's something i noticed right away.

So all in all, it was long due and i'm glad i was able to get her done as she's running like new again.

Thanks for your reply! I'll probably have this done in the next couple of months. A few hundred dollars every 100k isn't bad at all. I'm just glad that my TL still looks and drives great after 8 years and hasn't given me any real problems (other than the transmission which was replaced by the dealer under warranty). I couldn't be more satisfied with this car and I still turn around and look at it when I'm walking away in the parking lot
