1999 Tl 3.2
The aluminium rims on my 1999 Acura TL 3.2 have been peeling and getting scratched almost as if the clear coating had been coming off this has been happening since almost 5 years now. I purchased this car new.
Has anyone heard of any other defective rims or manufacturer recalls pertaining to this problem I brought to the attentiion of my dealer who just ignored me .
The other problem is the vinyl they used in the side patching of the seats is tearing in the drivers seat.
Any suggestions for both of these problems I'll try ot take a picture of the rims
all 4 rims bascially are peeling and look horrible

If you have the extended warranty, they should replace the drivers seat cover for you free of charge. The rims I'm unsure about, def. not a recall though...did you use anything other than carwash to clean your rims? The factory rims are magnesium alloy I believe and you have to be careful what your use on them, because of that.
Anyhow welcome to the forum! Good to see some girls on here

1999 TL 3.2 Rims
Hi thanks for the welcome
No I didn't use anything special to wash the rims. I did notice however that they replaced the design on the rims on cars of the same year but produced later in the year. My car was an early 1999. I ordered in October 1998 but didn't receive it until February 1999.
I didn't purchase extended warranty but I did tell my service girl about it while still under warranty and she didnt' say anything. I'm so ripped off!

Since the car is out of warranty, there is nothing they will do about the rims. You could shop around here or on ebay for a set of used (but in good condition) TL-S rims or the newer TL-P rims.
Or you could find a shop locally that will re-finish the rims that would cost about the same as buying a used set of TL-S rims.

well unfortunately with the age of the car there isnt much that can be done as far as getting it covered. You could search E-Bay or our black market and fide a set of good condition used wheels. As for the seat not much can be done there either. You may find a shop to repair it but by time all was said and done you may be able to get a new cover and have a shop install it for you

Like others said, you are out of warranty so you are SOL on the rims.
As far as the leather goes, did they do the leather repair under warranty?
If so and it is messing up (tearing like you said) the drivers seat, you might be able to get them to cover this because they are the ones that did the repair.
