Angry 1999 Exhaust TIPS

Someone stole my two factory exhaust tips off of my car and now I have to go buy some new ones. I was wondering if anyone knows if the 2004 TSX ones will fit onto my 1999 3.2 TL. I believe the 2004 TSX and new accord V6 share the same tips.

Any Ideas? New factory tips from the dealer are roughly $37 a pop.

Thanks!

Steve

Does your white TL have 3A or Pilot tips in the picture?

I found a pair of factory exhaust tips from a 2002 TL type-s for $15. This sounds like a pretty good deal even though they are used. Would you suggest I buy these or will the new ones look much better?

Thanks for the help.

Those are 3A tips. Pilots doesn't look bad either. Do you have a body kit on your car?

If you don't have a body kit, the tip sticks out about an inch, if you do have a kit, it flushes perfectly. This is what it looks like without kit.

I like those 3A tips. They jmake the car look faster!!! May be I will hold off and try to find a pair of those at my local auto store.

HZM82 what year is your car? And is that the Taffeta White or the White diamond pearl? I have Taffeta White and was thinking about doing the newer tail lights in the back, but I wasn't sure how it would look on the Taffeta White.

Thanks for your help.

If you want the 02+ tails (clear), You have two choices, OEM 02+ TL tails or Aftermarket tails

Aftermarket is $200 shipped and its a direct replacement
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2433457143

OEM is $300 including a wiring harness that you will need to replace.

Just incase you were wondering, I had the OEM tails till a truck backed up into it.

The ones in the pictures are the aftermarket tails.

No serious difference except for a frosted lens in OEM (to somewhat mask the Amber turn sig. better) I'm had both and you can't go wrong with either choices.

help me to clear things up...

2003 TL-S stock tip has 1 bolt
I see that a lot of 3A and Pilot tips have 2 bolts. Can I still install them onto stock muffler w/o adjustments?

wat size exhaust tip do I get for 2003 TL-S?

my 3As have 3 bolts. once you have the stock tip taken off (can be a bltch) the 3As will slide right on easily.

i assume '03 is same as my '02 so it'd be 3.5"x9" i think...bought em off this site, but not anymore...wonder why...

Does anybody know if the exhaust tips on the 2004 Accord Coupe will fit on a TL-S? I think those are real cool and want to switch them with my TL-S.

The bolts do NOT screw into the exhaust, the bolts just tighten against the exhaust.

Can you do the taillight coversion on your own (I'm a real amateur with mechanics), with what tools, and do you need to buy extras, like a harness, if you do the aftermarkets?

Thanks

If you buy aftermarket, you don't need a wiring harness, if you get OEM 02+ TL, you need a wiring harness because the turn sig socket uses a different bulb. Or you can just tape it in the socket.

You just peel back the trunk lining (look in your manual for how to change a tail light bulb) and uses a socket 8MM socket wrench to remove 6-8(?) nuts and then pull the tails stright out. This conversion is a no brainer.

correct! u just screw the 3 bolts that come with each tip until they hold tight against the exhaust. i wouldn't put on aftermarket tips at all if i had to make holes in my exhaust. so no worries bout that.

Don't get the ones for TSX/ 04 Accord! I've seen lots of 'em with rust on the inner lip. They probably are just chromed and not SS. Looks ugly. I picked up a pair of 3" "vibrant" ovals. They're nice and looks a lot like the Benz tips and they're screw-on. I painted the inner half with BBQ paint to match the black muffler.

04 TSX/03 Accord (04' Accord isn't out yet) uses the same material as the stock TL tips. These cars are also new, where the hell do you go that you see them rusting?
